A great New Year to you, too, Karyn
Nokomis = granny? :)
Actually, it’s a Seminole Indian name, I think. It’s really just a town within a city. Sarasota, Florida.
Unfortunately, I have and never will have grandchildren. I have two sons, neither of who want children. My daughter-in-law is a lawyer and career oriented. They feel the Planet is overpopulated enough. I do, however, have an adorable granpup. I’m ‘granmaw’ to him. He’s a rescue pup who was scheduled to be put down the following day. His back legs were deformed so he was deemed ‘unadoptable‘. To make it worse, he was a pure bred Pit Bull. That was until my son walked in the shelter. He now runs and plays like any pup. He just needed some love and surgery. Couldn’t ask for a more lovable animal.
Have a great year!
Susan

I just spotted your post about Ayn Rand. No I haven’t seen the movie but I will eventually. She was a fascinating woman and an incredible writer, in my opinion. I’ve read “Atlas Shrugged” multiple times. I also have her life story compiled by . . . the author’s name escapes me at the moment. I think my favorite was “We the Living“. If you enjoy reading and like deep thoughtful stuff, you must read Ayn Rand and form your own opinion. Atlas Shrugged starts out, “Who is John Galt.” A hook that grips you page after page after page and it’s a long-ass book! This is a novel as is The Fountain Head. She has a lot of non-fiction philosophy books as well. She was a brilliant woman. Even when I didn’t necessarily agree with her, I admired her intellect.
