Hi all you fabulous women,
I have been on the cusp of this for ages and have just about come to a decision.I’d like to share it with you and hear your views.
I am a trainer and coach and have been running my own show for 5 years. I absolutely love it and it has been very successful. In march I celebrated the fact.
But everything has to change and adapt and I have been working with a great business guy looking at new ways I can expand and develop. (Practising what I preach!)
Part of that expansion will be translating what I do into courses people can actually buy through the web site.
But I know I have been dragging my feet a bit, which has been easy to do as I have been so busy with other work. I have been working very hard and have more work than I can handle at times (hence focus on web) but something was holding me back from really progressing things.
I asked my business guy if he could say one thing to me what would it be. And he said ‘why don’t you just work with women?’
And suddenly it clicked. I am truly passionate about women achieving to their best. I am a feminist but feminine too! I also love men, and have been happily married for over 30 years and raised a son (and a daughter).
This is not about my attitudes to men, more about women. I believe women should be able to achieve at a high level without having to behave like men and I have coached some very senior women around these issues. I want the qualities that women possess in abundance to be valued in the work place and not given a second class status.
But for some reason I held back from specialising and I don't really know why. Well, no longer. Soon, there will be a new focus to my work and writing. I know this means lots of guys will leave my network and unsubscribe from my regular personal development newsletter, but I hope it means I will get more women signing up as my site will really speak to them! And I won't have the worry of trying to be even handed and doing the he/she thing all the time!
And coincidence or what? No sooner had I made this decision when a very senior exceutive woman contacted me to ask for some advice about how to tackle the macho culture in her organisation without causing strife and division, and to offer coaching support to the minority of senior women!
If you get time I’d appreciate any views on my current web site and your thoughts when I begin to change it. Women over 40 are probably the most likely women to sign up so your thoughts will be really helpful. Thank you!
