    • I would like to say that I am reporting on how many days I’ve gone without sugar. Or how many days I’ve been walking and exercising. But unfortunately, I’m moaning about my seemingly never ending period! My uterus seems to be having a going out of business promotion: EVERYTHING MUST GO!  Argh!

How long can I expect this “clearance” to go on?

        • I hear you! When I was a young girl my periods just started with no warning, I had one every month and everything just went along fine for years. So now that I’m in my 40’s, life is clicking along, I’m coming into my own and really discovering who I am, I’m looking forward to the future..... and my hormones are all over the map and my monthly cycle is treating me like I’m being punished for doing something wrong! I don’t get it. Why can’t they just abruptly stop like they abruptly appeared!! Why do we need this transition period?

coachmombabe, I really hope this gets better for you soon. You have my heartfelt empathy!

        • Chocolatier, I agree, they should just stop. End of story. My hormones are really only bad for the first few days, but the whole thing is getting old. hmmm, like me? naw!!!

I feel sorry for my husband! I know he’s patiently waiting for an “intimate opportunity“. :o(

        • today i came home with an herbal/vitamin/mineral mix for peri menapausal woman, a bottle of fake red wine (i don’t drink) and organic dried dates...I wanted to sit, take herbs, drink wine and nimble dates till it got better...hmmm, I’m having such excitement regarding Obamas victory but my hormones are still devastating my energy levels, clarity and mood!

        • “intimate opportunity” is a very cute way of saying it. I think I’m going to have to use that one. I hope you don’t mind.

I’d like to sit with some dates and herbs too. I admit, though, I’d also like to have someone standing over me waving a fan for the dreaded warm spells.

CLW, he’s really being a good sport. We‘re both working too long of hours to have any energy left for playtime anyway! So Sad! This will be over soon, I hope.

I’m not having many hot flashes lately. My premenstrual mood is my biggest issue. Seems perimenopause makes for extreme PMS! I can’t even drink a whole cup of regular coffee without feeling like I’m coming unglued!
