I’ve been jumping over something, running or lifting since I was 14. After retiring from my sport at age 36, I started karate and absolutely love it! There’s something quite therapeutic about getting to hit something and scream as loudly as you can – and it is oh so much cheaper than therapy, lol…

Any other athletic women out there?

        • I too am dedicated to fitness.  I got into sports as a child, then transitioned into the gym workout later, and now I have a home-gym and a degree in fitness & nutrition.  I love putting activity in my life everyday, and  yes, it is truly the best form of venting I can think of.  It really can change your whole perspective!
Good luck with the magazine as well!

        • I also love physical fitness.  Since I was was in high school I was always into being fit.  I just completed my first 5K at the beginning of August, it was awesome!  I’m a vegetarian and love healthy eating.  Working out is a wonderful stress reducer.  I absolutely love it!

        • I don’t know people live without the benefits of physical activity.  Although a dancer by trade, I began in track and
field.  These days, I teach dance, tour with ballet company, run a tap festival and direct my own company, as well as choreograph for many many outlets.  I feel like my life has a meaning!

        • How exciting – kindred spirits. I too love to workout and being physical. I wasn’t always that way, it was only after my mid thirties and my looming divorce did I decide to get physically fit.

It really helped me to feel more confident in myself and to also release the stress that is inevitable when going thru a divorce. I have run four – 5k’s in the past three years. Unfortunately the past year I have let my running lapse however I am newly motivated and would love to train for a 1/2 marathon, but I guess I better start slow with a few 5k’s or 10k’s then work my way up.

I am thrilled I found this thread, it is great to be in similar company!
