Good Sunday! Today I’m taking the day from walking; my foot is really swollen from golf yesterday. But I’m lifting weights, doing some stretching and using this new bender ball I bought. I like this thing! It was recommended by a friend who got one from her physical therapist. It really bumps up the intendity in core exercises. I need to improve my posture and strengthen the muscles in my core and my back.

I’m eating breakfast on the run today; a handful of peanuts, a cup of soy milk and my vitamins. I’ll grab some fruit when I get home from the store.

How’s everyone doing today? What are your fitness goals and plans for the week?

        • Virginia your Sunday sounds great! I love the way you’ve planned your week, too. I just had some leftover veggies for lunch. I’m saving some of my overall calories for dinner, too. We‘re having “Joe’s Special” with stuffed zucchini. I made some homemade ice cream for my stepdaughter but may save a little out for us if I keep my portions small at dinnerestatic

        • working out on this end too. i’ve gotten up to 4 miles daily in under 50 minutes. that bender ball is a killer. every time i think about getting one the lactic acid in my muscles oozes out in copious amounts.

maybe i’ll break down and get one. i’m down 7lbs with 20 more to go. heading out in a bit to drop the kiddie off at school and hit the track again.

best of luck to us all :):):):):)

        • Yay, Term! I’m happy you‘re joining us. Hey, pizza covers the major food groups so it’s a great breakfast. LOL

I just came home from a walk with Joe. We splurged a little this weekend so the week will be a little more disciplined. Haven’t even thought about breakfast yet. It’s 6:15 in the morning here.

Off to hit the bender ball and some weights - and then stretching.

        • On our walk this morning I asked my husband how many calories we burn when we walk. He said it was an average of 100 per mile depending on our weight. Normally I’d take what he says at face value because he has a master’s degree in exercice science and was nearly to a doctorate when he left school to work. Anyhow, I decided to verify the info before I share it and found that he was not correct. Walking is still a very good way to burn calories, strengthen your bones and boost your metabolism but turns out that fast walking and running are more efficient at the task. Here’s a great article that explains it all:

        • Did my kickboxing class for the 2nd day this week!  Making myself a huge chicken and chickpea salad.  I hope to loose 10 pounds with your challenge Cynthia!  I am a size 14 and have been for most of my life.  We’ll see what happens!  Did you hear about the “Mad Men” actress Christina Hendricks who said that it is so hard to get a high -end designer for the emmys last week, because they only lend out size 0 or 2!  In the end, the size 14 actress wore a gown by Zac Posen.  Love this!  And the picture of her with this beautiful lavender gown is gorgeous!

        • Apparently I stink.... havent seen this thread!

I’ve worked out on Mon. Tue and today! Going to find another zumba location with some more classes since the gym only offers twice per week at that location.

Food continues to be a struggle as far as eating enough daily. I keep shooting for 1900 calories but am still closer to 1200. Which is BAD BAD BAD!

        • Went to my kickboxing class even though I had to buy a good brace for my left knee.  I ran 2x when asked to in class, but I just couldn’t do a third run.  However, never say never...I just did a slow jog inside on the soft mats.  I am proud of myself.  On the way home I stopped off at Henrys for some fruits and vegetables.  This afternoon I will be having pasta(from last night) with zucchini mixed with just a little butter, salt and pepper and onions.  Dinner will be one nice homecooked hamburger with a poblano chile and some cantaloupe on the side.   I even thought of my snacks for today!  Stay positive everyone and keep moving!  More moving with less sitting!

        • I just logged on and saw all the posts since mine last night! I’m so excited so many of us are doing this together! Congratulations on all the good progress.

I did’t walk this morning. We woke up late. I’m working today and picking up my granddaughter from school later. I just finished a fresh raspberry smoothie - delicious! I’ll have some cucumber salad and maybe some crackers for lunch. We‘re having an ample dinner - the salmon I didn’t have a chance to make last night.

Have a great day everyone. I’ll check back in later.

        • How’s everyone doing?

It’s Thursday, I went on a walk this morning and then did some weights. Been running around town all day. I’ve eaten light but a few small meals. Leftover broccoli and Triscuits for lunch but we‘re having meat sauce for dinner with salad or veggies.

        • Iestatic I walked today with my boot camp class. The way we time our walks is how I started to lose wieght months ago. Im now working on my deep belly fat which is the hardest to get rid ofwalking or running is the best way basically the only way sif ups or crunchs only work on the top stomach muscles
Plus a tblespoon of apple cider vinigar in a glass of water helps break down the deep stomach fat. I can see and feel the difference.
Tonight for dinner I had salmon and a tomato salad with olive oil, garlic and feta cheese.
