3rd week in our challenge! How is everyone doing? I know a few of our group is doing very well and I’m drawing inspiration from them. In fact, I was just thinking about Virginia and her 8 pound loss the other day when I was walking with my husband. It prompted me to finish my workout with some abdominal work and an extra few sets of weight training.

So for this week, let’s share some of our secrets for staying motivated. For some of us, 3 weeks in we‘re seeing some results and there may be a temptation to backslide a little. For others there may be little or no progress and there’s some discouragement going on.  And for others there may be some progress but not enough to get us all fired up.

I stay motivated by listening to others’ successes and struggles. In the successes I’m motivated to be part of that team. In the struggles I feel a responsibility to succeed so I can help to lift someone else who’s having a hard time.

      What about you?

        • I am doing much better after coming back from vacation in Vegas.  This week for breakfast I will be having flax flakes cereal with organic soy milk and activia most mornings or a protein or fruit shake which I make.  Lunch will be salads with some sort of protein.  Mydinner will be vegetables and sort of protein.  I am devoting 6 hours this week to exercise which I hope to incorporate some weight lifting.  The fruits I have bought for the week are cantalopue, honey dew, pineapple, banana and kiwwi.  Increasing my fluid intake of water(trying to reach 8 glasses).

Yesterday I wanted to go over board with a piece of cake and I said NO, because I am on a mission with the ladies.

I am so excited, we are going forward.  Yes through my vacation I put on a few pounds but I am back to reality now and it will be gone.

Have a great week ladies and let us keep moving.

        • Brimstone, I love your plan! I love the fact that we have each others support in avoiding temptation.

Now that hormone week is over, I am ready to crack it up a few notches.

I plan on really delving into pilates and yoga with intense cardio. As for eating, lots of summer veggies! Lately, breakfast has been quinoa with garlic and lots of veggies with an egg. It is awesome!

I also have incorporated a small piece of dark chocollate into my diet. It is an incredible treat and I don’t ever feel deprived! I look forward to my little square. That is all it takes!

Cynthia, Thank you for putting this support group together! I love it!

Wishing everyone a highly successful week!

          Mary

        • Mary, I love the idea of the quinoa. I had my egg over rice this morning and I was actually thinking of making some quinoa instead! If I didn’t have rice in the fridge left over from last night I would have done that. Great protein, great fiber.

And you‘re welcome about the support group. I do believe that we’ll all come out of this much better than we went in.heart

        • It’s noon time over here. I had to run out the door this morning early so I grabbed a small slice of homemade pizza for breakfast. Just got home, famished and thirsty so I blended a quick fresh blueberry smoothie and had one of those under ripe peaches I bought at Costco. I left it on the counter while I was gone and must admit it was better.

I’m off to catch up on house cleaning. Dinner will be a combination of leftovers from the past few nights.

        • Awwww thx Cynthia!

I just keep telling myself that I didn’t get like this overnight. That there was a journey to where I am now and another journet to where I want to go.

I get so much insight and info from everyone’s comments!

        • Hi Mary! That’s great about starting pilates again.

I just finished my workout and now am eating a peach. I’ll have some protein after my shower. I’ve got another busy day downtown today. I think we‘re eating lunch out.

yesterday I received some supplements I ordered from a women’s health center on the East Coast. I’m curious about them so I got a 20 day supply. Nothing out of the ordinary, just vitamins and minerals. So, we’ll see if I feel any different on them than my regular multi vitamin.

        • Virginia, you‘re doing really well. I can’t wait to hear all about that dress you‘re planning to wear next month.

I’m home from my day downtown. We went out for lunch at a Mexican restaurant. We both love Mexican food! I tried to order off the children’s menu because I wanted a small portion. The waitress said I couln’t but she could do a downsized version of an entree - basically half portion. I did. But when the bill came there was only $1.00 taken off the price. Now, I wasn’t expecting to pay half price but $1.00????

I think we’ll both be pretty full from lunch come dinner time so I’m just going to toss a salad and maybe cook a little shrimp. Then we have to go to a volleyball game at my husband’s school.

Sounds like everyone is on track.. I am going to run when I get home and then eat a nice simple meal of salad and skinless chicken breast(grilled).  I hope everyone has a great day!

        • We‘re getting close to the end of the week. Any special plans for anyone with your goals?

I’m just continuing on the course I’ve started on but I’m lining up some clothes I want to get into. I’ve got a pair of capri pants that are too tight. Hoping I’ll be able to wear them by the end of the month.

I’ve got a pair of jeans that are getting too big. I have to throw them in the dryer before putting them on. But the next size down is a bit too snug. I’m counting on making the switch from the larger ones to the smaller ones in a couple of weeks.

I’ve been letting myself be a little slacker on the weekends with my eating. I think this weekend I’m going to pull in the reins a little so I can start the week on a more positive note.
