I’m not sure why, but Fall has always been my favorite season. Although most love the spring time or summer months, for me there is something about fall that inspires me.  I’m not sure if it is the slight chill in the air with the beautifully colored leaves, or evoked by memories of the past.

Some of the things that Fall inspires me to do are to take pictures of the fall folige, write a book, horse back ride, rake leaves to enjoy with a grandchild, or to just take a long drive and listen to my favorite music.

Am I the only one, or do any of you feel inspired by Fall ?

        • Hi Shop Girl,

I am with you. Fall is my favorite time of the year. The chill in the early morning. We can open the windows and  feel the breeze in the house. Sitting on the porch with a soft blanket and listening to the leaves move back and forth. The vivid colors… makes me want to go for a drive and look at all the beautiful colors the Lord has provided for us. It is the best…

On a side note, Congrads on you finding love again. Also, a new baby coming… How awesome. There is nothing as pure and innocent as a newborn. I love the way they smell. You are truly blessed and I am thrilled for you.

        • I love Fall. When I lived in the Caribbean the Fall season was one of the few things that I missed.
The crispness in the air, the trees in all their mid-life glory, the sound of the leaves being rustled by the wind, the smell of chimney smoke and thick warm sweaters…oh, and Halloween! I love it. Nature is amazing!

        • Fall feels like peace to me. The leaves give their last explosion of color before exiting their trees for winter’s rest. The bustle of summer vacation and children home is over and houses around the world are quiet during the day. The air begins to gently chill, prompting the desire to curl up in the afternoon with reading material and a hot cup of tea, coffee, something comforting.

For me it’s a time of reflection. And, it’s also my favorite season.

        • Chocolatier, you have a wonderful way with words.  Your words brought vivid pictures into my mind.  I like all seasons when they first begin.  I’ll have to admit that winter is my least favorite.  I want snow on Christmas, but any other time I could take it or leave it.  I find that Autumn tends to bring feelings of melancholy.  But I can still find the beauty in it.  :)

        • Fall is definitely my favorite season. One, I love Halloween and two, it’s my birthday.
I grew up in northeastern Ohio. We had wonderful Indian summers. There’s just something about the smell of the leaves, the crisp air, fresh apple cider and powdered doughnuts.
Living in southern California now, I really miss that. My husband and I have a motorcycle. It’s a great way to enjoy all the colors and scents associated with fall. We try to get out every weekend, now that the air is starting to cool. There are a few trees up in the mountains that change color, not quite the same, but nostalgic nonetheless.

        • I love fall ! Halloween is the best here at my house. My kids are getting older but we still have fun. We eat pizza and I start making cookies at 3:00 in the afternoon. The kids bring friends over. It is so much fun.
