Girfriends walk through life together, whether they live close or far apart. They know that the other one is there... to share the highs and lows and everything else. They are connected at the heart, and their commitment to their friendship is permanent. They believe in each other. They are sensitive and supprtive, and the can talk about things they may not even talk to their families about. Each of them knows the other will understand, no matter what.
Girlfriends aren’t afraid to break the rules, defend each other, and go out of their way. They cried together and laughed together, and they have been there when it mattered. Their loyalty is strong and lasting, and their bond is unquestionable and unconditional. They know that they’ll keep on being there through everything life has in store for them. No one can take the place of a girlfriend.
If this speaks to your friendship with a special girlfriend, please share some of your story with us.
I have a sweet friend and neighbor who has lupus along with fibromyalgia/osteoarthritis (what I deal with), we are avid gardeners and love a good laugh. We understand what it is like to have a chronic condition and therefore are very sensitive to each other..she is a doll!
My BFF is a sweetheart, and she gets me I’ve shared with her many times that I feel we should have been sisters. She is quite thoughtful of me, and we keep up with each other no matter what. We seem to love a lot of the same things and we share a lot with each other, I love her to pieces.
Very true, my best friend has been part of my life for over 20 yrs. we can tell each other anything and everything and trust them with that information. We both feel like we should of been sisters.
My best friend and I have been friends since high school. I was going through some stuff in high school and she had the courage to speak up and say something to her mom and she told my mom. She’s a very courageous person and I admire her so much!
Unfortunately she’s not close...she’s in Canada, but she’s always in my heart.
Sadly I cant say the same.I have a real sister we haven’t spoken in over 2 yrs I miss her dearly. I been out of touch with so much since I lost my two sons right here in Detroit. I feel as if I dont really have a family anymore. I have a beautiful 11yr old daughter who wants a family setting again. My close friend moved to Tennessee 3 yrs ago, she was like a sister to me I really miss that connnection
40yearsyoung, I totally understand your pain about not havingthat connection with your sister. I have the same issues with 2 of the 3 sisters that I have.
I guess what hurts the most is you expect to compete with friends. But you shouldn’t have to compete with your sisters and I have always felt like she felt like she had to compete with me. And always be bigger and better than me and I just got tired of it and had to let go.
