Here we are facing summer. I know the calendar still says January but before we know it spring and summer will be here.
I have been a health journey for the last 2 years. I have been busy trying to change habits that were not healthy or were not promoting health goig forward. But I have really amped it up in the last 6 mos or so. A group of us on here started a team on sparkpeople.com to help us with our efforts. It’s a free site that will give you ideas, suggestions and support. But the best part is the tracking. You can track your food, exercise, water intake and measurements. GREAT!
So there has been a lot of cross blogging between here and SP.
I’m not trying to get more people to join the the team there but what I would like is for a group here and there to join this challenge. Normally I prefer 21 days to do a challenge but I think THIS challenge will require more time.
I am however going to start 21 days of gluten free beginning of Feb but I will post that elsewhere.
The challenge I am talking about (and Yana maybe this will help you with your daily tracking?????) is a Bathing Suit Challenge and a Jiggly Arms no More Challenge.

I will have to do some faux tanning first but I am willing to put on my tankini and have my daughter takes pics. I am also willing to have pics of the arm jiggle and post them both.
I AM NOT WILLING TO GO IT ALONE THO!!!!!!!

So are you willing to join me in one or the other or both?

My motto “No Guts No Glory“!

        • I love this idea - as we all have a much loved item for summer lurking at the back of the wardrobe but haven’t worn it due to weight increase or slack arms , knees - or it maybe you just want to wear your white trousers and feel foxy ...

I’m going to get into a fabulous halterneck dress in an amazing print which I paid a fortune for and has wonderful shoes and accessories - only worn once - looked at a million times since - so I’m in !

        • I love white in the summer but it’s so unforgiving ... so need to tone up for that.

For the shy folk maybe post a picture of the garment they want to wear and then they can do a weekly try on so they can see their goal getting near - better than scales in that respect

        • I like Vicki’s idea of the before pic being of the item if we choose. I don’t know if I want to actually be IN it at the time. Also, I have some clothes that I would love to wear but I can’t even get in them to take a photo - don’t want to bust the seams out if you know what I mean.

I’m in. Do we have a goal date, Vikki? But, yes, I’m in. I’ll go and try on a one piece swimsuit today to see if I would take a photo in it. If not, I have a dress that I really want to wear again and I’ll take a photo of that.

        • Uuh, I don’t want to sound one up but really I don’t have any challenge in this area. But thank you for inviting me.

Also I would very much like to support in the way I could. My approach to physical transformation is through mental/spiritual transformation.

I find that when we are at peace and in the place of content, many things falls in place easily. Cravings gradually go away by itself, our body enjoys good food/habits.

Might be hard for some to grasp. But if you are open to mind work - there are plenty to explore.

          Good Luck!

p.s. don’t get me wrong, I don’t have the perfect body, I need a magic to iron out my tummy creases from childbirth. Any suggestion! :)

I also like the Idea of taking a pic of an outfit or Item of clothing that you want to fit Into again. That sounds good, I have a pair of jean shorts that are calling my name. I use to wear them many moons ago and I want to get back In them.estatic

It would be great to look good during the Summer for once.heart

        • I’m in! What a great idea! And the gluten-free idea is wonderful. Do you have resources to help you with it? The gluten-free girl blog is absolutely one of my favorites! [Link Removed]

You know what I think I’ll do for a before picture? Take a picture of just my arm in a tank top. That makes me cringe just a little less AND I’ll get to see the difference.

I’ve recently started doing T-Tapp. Ever heard of it? I have fibromyalgia so full-on exercise isn’t possible. But I’m doing their rehabilitation series and wow, it’s been fascinating. I think they have some stuff on youtube if anyone would like to see what it is...

          Thanks for doing this!

Conakat I will surely check out that blog. I have been researching this for a few months now so I think I’m ready. Also I have never heard of T Tap. What is it?

As for posting pics.... that is your choice. The point was to get summer ready and think about the utfits we want to wear but may not wear due to a jiggle there and jiggle here...there a jiggle here a jiggle now lets all get up and giggle!!!

Sorry I just got back from the gym so I am in my hap slappy stage for a bit!

        • Eh, nobody wants to look at flab, it’s just too scary. Makes sense...I’ll keep my picture to myself estatic

But I do have a really cute sundress that I would love to wear this summer. That works for me!

T-Tapp ( [Link Removed] )is something of a cult of personality for Teresa Tapp (the founder), if you read some of the reviews. Some of the products she hawks...eh, I ignore them. Her workout DVDs are amazing. She is extremely detailed in the hows and the whys of what she does. And it makes sense.

Doctors seem to love the program and it does get results both in appearance and health. It’s nothing like any other workout I’ve done.

I’ve been at it since the 1st (A New Year’s resolution that made it past the first week. YES!!!) and I honestly already notice a difference in the way I stand (straighter) and in my abs (flatter).

But that’s just me. I can see where she would drive someone nuts but might be worth a look-see. She has a “Try before you buy” page:
[Link Removed] although the “organs in place” routine is um...for lack of a better word, weird.  But who am I to argue with the results I’m starting to see?

If anyone does take a look I’d love to hear what you think. It took me quite a while to convince myself to try this just because it is so different.

I’m definitely not shy, but there are just some parts of my body that should be kept away from the net.

I try to keep a gluten free diet because of my PA, and I haven’t been on Sparks for a long time, but I promise to start keeping track.

I fully support you, and would love to post your final results for all to see. As a matter of fact, everyone who is brave enough to do this, I’m behind you all the way and will do everything possible to keep you motivated. So if you have any ideas how I can help, message me.

Remember you don’t have to take a swimsuit pic.... It could be a pic of your arm, outfit you want to fit into.

But please if it’s just the pic thing holding you back.... Don’t key it! The more the merrier and the more support we have will equal success for us all!

        • I’m out!  LOL, living in the woods a bathing suit isn’t something I own. I don’t have jiggly arms because in winter I work with weights, spring & summer i’m working outside in the gardens or with woodworking tools. My thighs & butt are firm, but I’ve got droopy boobs now that I’m almost 61. Solution to that is a good bra! LOL

The simple yoga stretches are great for toning muscles. It will whitle down your waist and
          tummy size without being excruciating.

Good luck, my ladies! I hope you all feel Beautiful before bathing suit season.
