Has anyone read Animals in Translation by Temple Grandin? There were many parts of the book that revealed more to me about animals, but the one I’ve  noticed repeatedly since, in my own furry loves, is that animals love new things just because they are new. Her ex., to paraphrase, is that pigs can have the best familiar mud-hole to play in, but a new stick will quickly trump it. Another point she makes, is that animals have best friends. This is how she caught a hog thief at a big fair. She found the pen where hogs were standing around by themselves, because they didn’t know each other.

We really know so little about animals.
