I really like the sound of the discussion idea. A good place to discuss contrivertial topics. Hmm... how about this....Michelle Obama has a staff of over 21 people and the salaries are charged to the White house staff budget.. She has the largest staff of any First Lady in history. Previous First ladies had at most 2 staff and many of the assistants to the first lady have been paid out of the President’s salary.
What do you think?
That’s the way to cut the budget!!!
Interesting. I’m sure she has good reasons for 21 people and likely has strong feelings re providing jobs for people during these times.I am curious though, for those contending with obesity issues and organic eating etc, I’m sure they don’t need a staff to handle it. But they likely don’t have Ms Obama’s schedule either....I’d be happy to join the hair/makeup/wardrobe team or be a personal photographer!Or travel planner...
Does anyone know the job duties of the 21 people?
I read the list the day I asked this question, but I can’t remember the specifics. I will try to find it and upload the link
Interesting.....When I went to search the article this one came up as well. So here is the link to the original “erumor” and something disputing it. And this page has a link to the first lady page on the white house website where you can get facts.Great stuff.
Way too many staff members . I don't care how busy her schedule is. Remember when she went oversea's with hubby, she took I believe it was 12 stylist's with her? Come on....I don't care if your the prez or 1st lady.....this is totally overkill!
Jenz, if I was First Lady, you would be hired on the spot!..as far as her “cabinet“..there are pros and cons, indeed she may very well need the insight and suggestions from others, but, should it come out of our pockets?.. definitely not, she looks like a very healthy and intelligent woman and could come up with a way to be more frugal in her spending!
I didn’t realize I couldn’t put in a link! Sorry. I just found the information by googling Michelle Obama’s staff.
