      Hi All -
Let’s face it after 40 everything slows down...especially your metabolic rate.  I am interested to hear what you are doing to combat what I call “The Midlife Metabolic Crisis“.  As a registered dietitian/nutrition expert, I am writing a book on this very thing and would love real life stories from all of you!

Please feel free to e-mail me privately with your input or questions.

      Thank you!
      Vicki

        • I would love to know why my weight has shifted to my midsection. I have always had a small waist, even as small as 23 inches when I was young. I’m afraid to even pull out a tape measure now.

How we get our cute figures back once we get into menopause. Is it even possible?

        • I’ve noticed after 40 any extra weight went right to the area I call my “menopot“, even though I’m perimenopausal. Walking always helped take it down some. After 4 kids all kinds of things bloat me right in the menopot-weird huh?

        • I’m with you here Cynthia.  I used to have a 21 inch waste and even when I gained weight it would usually be in my breasts, behind and thighs...seemingly equally distributed.  But now...it’s in my stomach.  I know that I have hypothyroidism and I’m wondering if that’s why it is going to the stomach.

        • Thanks for all of your comments!

Well, we can blame it on hormones and throw in the towel, but I am a firm believer that waistline management after 40 is possible and lifesaving!  There are some key ways to get back into shape physically and mentally.  Recalibrate your caloric needs—after 40 you need at least 200 calories less per day.  So start by cutting back and move more.

Become a healthy gourmet after 40—make eating healthy fun and part of your life!

Let’s keep chatting about this topic.  It’s a passion for me to help people lose weight and be happy with healthy and delicious food.

          Thanks!
          Vicki
