Apparently I have along history in my family of mental illness, but it does not come any closer then a young child. Of 10 spending his 10th B‘day in a mental institution, a long line of many, since he was about 3.5, with and even longer line of meds to go with... As of right now they have a dianosis of Bi-polar 2 with pychotic tendencies, which has been down graded from Schio-affective Bi-polar 2 with multiple tendencies... with of course the all important adhd that started the whole roller coaster of people freaking out because he did not fit into the usual mold, Sorry for sounding so cynical, or blase’ It has been a very long road and I don’t see and end in sight but a life time of permanent institutions for my son, I have followed him all over the state trying to bring him home and it only seems to get worse and further away... I guess what I am trying to say is it seems to be a very long and lonely road that we are on and I am tired... If none of this makes any sense please let me know I have tendency to ramble in this mood of: I have no Idea where all of this is going I just seem to need to let it out to any one who will listen, that has no idea of the whole ordeal from day one... And that has no vested interest in the outcome...
Thanks for letting me vent, I am sure there is more to come, that’s if no one cares... to read my ramblings...
      Much Love
      Lilli

        • Thank you china doll for the invitation I do not have the money to up grade right now but I will keep it in mind, when I have the means to do so.

Tammy Hello, I can give you some sites to visit, that can give you some info, on what you are looking for, the first thing you need to do is get the history of the mother, and family. Since it is past from mother to son or daughters, with some exceptions like my son, I am not saying this to scare you, this is the info that I have come up with on this long road with my son. My father’ family has a long history of various types, and I am always looking for more my oldest is tracking some down for my as we speak, because of the situation with my son. Your best line of defense is to find out as much as you can.
May I ask you a question, do you have custody or are they in the family still? The reason I ask is what kind of therapy do they have right now, because being so young no one will do a diagnosis this early for schizoprenia, it is a lot to worry about, Info is the key always...
If you need someone to talk to I will send you my email for school I am usually on there more often then not because of school. ldean0006@kctcs.edu
here is ones that I can get to right now:

          schizophreniaconnection.com
          nami.org
          sz magazine.com
          specialneeds.guide@about.com
          everydayhealth.com/schizophrenia.com

Some of these are help/chat sites, some are actual medical sites, or can lead you to more. If any on these do not work, let me know and I will see what it is I have missed, I usually get daily up dates on different sites, or I run across more in my own search for info. One of the best is the Nami.org I have not been to your page yet, so I am not sure where you live, but Nami can direct you to local support groups in your area. If you have any questions feel free to send me an email, here or the other one.
And if all else fails type in Schizophrenia and children and a dozen or more will pop up.
I wish you luck, and love from someone who has lived with this disease for longer then I care to sometimes.
