When I first saw the news tidbit that Mr. Obama claimed he would bankrupt the US coal industry, I laughed. Noone would say such a thing, right? Wrong.

It seems that Barack Obama says odd things when he goes to California - San Francisco in particular. We all know too well his infamous statement about bitter Mideastern voters clinging to guns and religion as a crutch. As if that whopper weren’t enough, Mr. Obama also told the San Francisco press that his energy policy on capping and trading rights to carbon emissions would act to bankrupt the coal industry and significantly increase the price of electricity. This is a mind numbing admission given the sheer magnitude of the nation’s coal industry and the number of jobs it represents. Why is this only coming to light now?  Mr. Obama surely does not want this quote circulating through Pennsylvania.

My advice to Mr. Obama: keep talking to the San Francisco press. It’s nice to know what’s really on your mind when you are not busy saying that it is “selfish” to want to pay low taxes.

Every time I am ready to pull the lever for Obama, he does it again. What is this guy really all about? Does anyone know?
