      Adam’s Ribs

      Ingredients:

      Pork Spare Ribs  (any qty or type you prefer, I usually use boneless)

      Dr. Pepper Soda  or other blackcherry soda (do not substitute diet) -enough to cover the ribs in a stockpot

      2 tsp of liquid smoke seasoning  per 1.5 lbs of ribs (this is available in most chain grocery stores)

      Smashed garlic gloves and sliced onions to taste- I use one onion and 2 cloves per 1.5 lbs of ribs

      BBQ sauce enough to coat the ribs-any type you prefer or homemade (I usually go with a simple  and inexpensive tomato based one such as Heinz Original, so as not to mask the subtle blackcherry taste on the ribs)

      Directions: Boil ribs, onion, garlic and liquid smoke in the soda in a large stock pot and simmer until tender, at least one hour.  Remove ribs, drain well and pat dry.  Coat ribs in bbq sauce and spread on cookie sheets or roasting pans in a single layer. Bake in a 375 degree oven till browned.
