You know how they say you always have that one child that just gives you challenges, well that’s my 3rd one... Last year on her 19th birthday before she stepped out of my door I gave her some advice. “I know that you‘re going to do what you‘re going to do, but all I ask is for you to call me if you need me to pick you up. I don’t care what time it is. Please just don’t drink and drive...” Well, she did... It was the last day on the month and cops were all over. Yes ladies, I got that phone call at 5am in the morning... “Mommy, I’m in jail!” It was one of the worst day of my life as a parent... I didn’t post her out of jail... I left her there the whole entire day... I called her sisters to let them know what happened.. They came over to my house as soon as they could to give me support. You see, I was a single mother of three girls for many years. So the four of us were very close... As disappointed as I was with my youngest, my husband and I helped her with pretty much whatever she needed help with... We paid the money to get her car out, the lawyer and drove her around for awhile until she got things taken care of... And we all sat down with her and talked to her about everything and hoping that she learned her lesson from what happened... Well, apparently not so much...frown She called me the other day and told me she got pulled over by a cop for speeding. I was livid!!! It could of been prevented. Her excuse was, “I was running late for work!” Are you kidding me? Her car got taken away for 30 days and it will cost $1700 to get taken out... I of course told her how disappointed i was of her. This didn’t need to happen. I told her I loved her but I was not going to help her fix it this time... It was the hardest thing I have ever done as a parent. I feel so guilty and worried... My whole entire body hurts and haven’t really slept very well. I want to help my child without fixing it for her, but how do I do it?

        • It does hurt being a parent sometimes. We have to just keep the faith that things will work out for the best, we raised them so we know they have a good foundation.

        • Once we’ve done our job as a parent it is up to the children to hold on to what they have been taught and use those morals and values in their daily lives as they go on to live their lives, but then there are some who just feel they know it all and when things don’t go as they plan they look for mommie and daddy to bail them out. We as parents must learn that yes we will always love our children and will always want to be there for them but there comes a time when you must cut the apron stering and let them learn from their own mistsakes; LIFE EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER! I pray all works out for the best with your family.
