        • I like 2 inch heels.  I work in the medical field and wear athletic shoes all day long, so I’m used to comfort.  When I want to wear heels, I want to look good, but I’m not willing to compromise comfort.  Look for something that has a flexable sole too, that helps. Clarks and Naturalizer are good brands to look for.

        • No heels are comfortable if the shoe doesn’t fit you properly.  I’ve got a pair of 4” heels that I got on clearance at Payless that I can wear for hours and they don’t hurt.  They fit.   I’ve got a cute little pair of kitten heel sandals that are the most painful thing I’ve ever worn.

Find a brand that fits your foot.  For me Ros Hommerson is the best fitting, although some of their shoes tend to look like granny shoes.

        • I agree with the others. Also, foot problems vary as much as the people themselves.

I have high arches, neuromas (benign tumors) and a balance disorder. My heels are no higher than 2 inches (3 for short period of time/special events).

My most comfortable shoes are my most expensive (on sale). Ample room in the metatarsals where my foot is wider and made from butter soft Spanish leather.

The adage, you get what you pay for , is sometimes very true.

Go for comfort and the health of your feet.

        • I think it’s more to do with comfort not height as I have very high heels which are very comfortable and flats which kill me ........

I think you do have to try on - the ones I wear everyday have a 4 inch heel and they are so comfortable and I can walk for miles - if I could buy them in other colours I would be laughing but sadly one colour black .....

        • Cole Hahn with Nike technology are awesome but expensive. Worth it if you stand all day as your screen name implies.

        • The ladies are right. The key is a well made shoe. If it is more about price, a cheaper shoe that is fairly comfortable for a fair price is Life Stride and maybe Pierre Dumas. You probably won’t get the wear out of them that you would the more expensive brands, though, so you have to figure how much you are really saving and if your comfort is worth it. Also, if it is a well made shoe, you will probably be able to handle any heel size that you may find attractive.

        • Love all the ideas in here! It really is all about the fit and how the shoe is made. Anyone heard of Taryn Rose shoes? I am actually working with the brand so I thought I'd pass along some info. The brand is known for creating comfortably sexy shoes that are chic and fit really well.(Think memory foam for you feet!!) Plus the shoes are hand-sewn in Italy. You can see some of the styles here:
