      When we traveled this Christmas we stopped in to a restaurant for lunch and had a wonderful corn chowder. I asked the chef for the recipe and this is what I was told:

      Butter
      carrot
      celery
      garlic
      onion
      corn
      chicken broth
      cream

      I just put a tablespoon of butter in a pan, gently cooked the 1 carrot, 1 celery, 1 garlic, 1/4 onion until soft but not brown. I added a can of drained corn, and a quart of chicken stock and simmered it for about half an hour. I pureed the soup and then added just a little cream for the richness and served it warm. It tasted just like the soup in the restaurant. Delicious!
