        • Trying not to make ugly throat noises, LOL.  I’m not a fan of brown rice. But there are
some tasty whole grain pastas now that I will happily eat.

        • Morning Vikki and Ladies,

I recently discovered a whole grain bread product by Orowheat called, Sandwich
Thins. They have a bit of a delicious nutty flavor, only 100 calories, no saturated
fats, no colestrerol, 11 grams of whole grains, 5 grams of fiber, 5 grams protein.
Low sodium and low sugar gains my appreciation as well. Perfect replacement to
a white bread hamburger bun or white bread & bagels for sandwiches.

Good deal working with a personal trainer, Vikki. Enjoy!

        • I know what you mean Ms. V, I was brought up on white rice being my grandpa was from the Phillipines and thats what we had at every meal, yes every meal, breakfast lunch and dinner. I gotton so use to that, that I still eat white rice, granted only at dinner time but I am not sure I can do without It. I haven’t tried brown rice yet, I heard It didn’t taste very good but who knows, you might like It. Let me know how It taste estatic

          Good luck

        • Good for you honey - I think sadly once you pass the magic age of 40 carbs are a big NO ... I know most of my weight loss is due to increasing the water and cutting the carbs back - in a nut shell all the white rice, white bread etc has no goodness anyway it’s just packing chubby on the belly / ass and legs

        • V it’s no biggie if you cave in occasionally...just be mindful of what you cave in with and make sure you enjoy it so you are satisfied and able to get back on the wagon. Carbs are tricky as they can easily lure you back in but I don’t believe in complete depravation.
So congrats on what you have done so far!

        • The amount of carbs we need depends on how physically active we are. If
not exercising and we have a sedentary job, we don’t need a lot of carbs.
And I’m toatlly into take a day off and enjoy without guilt. As Vicki stated,
we need to live a little. ;o)
