Taken from Until today...Daily Devotions for Spiritual Growth and Peace of MInd

I will gain moare understanding when I realize...I am an important part of the wholeness of life.

Author and teacher Eric Butterworth once said. "I am an Each-ness in the All-ness  that is God." His words convey the idea that we are all essential elements of all that God is. Sometimes we forget that every part of the whole is an important part.

As children in school, we had to line up by size. At recess or dismissal time, a crooked line would delay the advancement of the whole class. If one person was out of line, the whole line had to wait. No each-ness could go out to play or go home until the all-ness was in alignment. It works the same way in life. What you do, how you do it and when you do it affects every person in front of you and every person coming behind you. That is how important you are.

It is so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day doing of the things required just to stay alive that you lose sight of the all-ness  of life moving around you, depending on you and waiting for you. In reality, getting caught means forgetting your importance and your power to affect the world and to have an impact on life. If and when you get caught up, some part of life must wait or stop and is delayed in its ability to move forward.

Until today, you may not have understood how important you are to the forward movement of life. Just for today, think about all the people who are affected by what you do or what you do not do. Think about all the things you have not allowed yourself to do and what an impact you could have on the world if you allowed your each-ness to shine in the all-ness  of life.

Today I am devoted to recognizing the importance of the power I have to impact all of life!
