Need to get back in shape or lose a few a few pounds?

I’m proposing a group that supports each other for the month of December. Everyone chooses there own objectives, shares them with the group, and then we encourage each other to reach our goal. Your goal can be small or big, it doesn’t matter. Everybody is welcomed!

      Together we can do it!

        • This month, I will try walking or doing stationnary bike half an hour at least 5 days a week, except maybe during the holiday week- although it might be possible since I cannot celebrate Xmas with family because I work... We’ll see.

My main goal is to get back in shape for next fall so I can climb the biggest mountain near my place - 2800 meters, that’s 9186 feet. I wouldn’t mind losing a bit of fat in the proccess and hope to gain muscle! Since I’m out of shape and working a lot, my December objectives are small, but if all goes well they’ll increase through out the year.

        • I am game. I have started a weight loss plan, plus I have incorporated focusing not just on the physical but the spiritual and positive emotional support. this fits right in. I am trying to work out everyday for at least 45 minutes, taking time each day not just for prayer but also for mediation and reflection, engaging in a creative project once per week and spending more time on caring for me. Avoiding negative people and spending more time with the positive ones

        • I am sort of motivated.  I want to get back to doing some exercise daily, but having trouble figuring out WHEN!  On days I ride to work with hubby, I’ve got about ten minutes to go from sound asleep to being out the door.  He has to be at work quite a bit earlier than I do.  I sit around the break room for an hour at work and suggested to a co-worker who is in the same predicament I am that we’d have time to do a yoga class or something.  But I feel like sort of an idiot exercising at work with cameras watching.

        • Hi Tulip, you don’t have to do something everyday. You can set your goal to doing something once a week, or even once a month. Might be a half an hour walk or going up and down stairs for 15 minutes. It doesn’t matter how much you do; a little is always better then the perfect training that you never do.

As for me, I’m down to day 8. :) Quite happy about myself. But the real challenge is yet to come: I start work on Tuesday. But I’m positive I will make things work out. :)

          Kmarie, what about you?

          Have a great day everyone!

        • Good point.  I think I will set my goal to do something on the mornings that I don’t ride to work with hubby. That gives me at least 15 minutes maybe 3 mornings a week, which is better than nothing.

        • Well, I haven’t been doing very well lately. Actually I haven’t exercised since Thursday. I’m not sure I will reach my objective this month. It doesn’t feel that important though.

My husband left in emergency for Burkina Faso last Friday. His father, who lives there, was hospitalized on Wednesday and fell into a coma on Thursday. He was going to bring him back to France so he could be treated here. His father died before he even got there.heartbreak He was only 53. Nobody saw this coming. Now my hubby is all alone there taking care of everything. He is the oyster type of guy; he clams up when he’s sad or unhappy, so he doesn’t call. I on the contrary, would be reassured to talk to him. I feel far away and useless, but I’m trying to respect his need to be alone. His family is far away too, so I cannot be of any help to them too. The best thing I think I can do is make sure things run smoothly here so he doesn’t have to worry about us, plus I have work.frown It’s just such a sad sad moment.
