In case you haven’t heard, Diamond Pet Food has made a voluntary recall due to pet food contaminated with Salmonella. they private label for companies like Kirkland so if you buy your dry pet food at costco, please google the company and visit their website.
At least 14 people have already become sick and I heard on the news that several dogs have been affected.
How did people become sick from pet food? I didn’t know salmonella affected dogs. I suppose perhaps dogs that aren’t allowed outdoors to forage as nature intended?

Salmonella can cause horrible symptoms in dogs. It’s basically the same as for people. The people who got sick handled the dog food and didn’t wash their hands afterward.
What a shame! There are so many stories anymore about food contamination..very scary!
I had no idea. I’ve been to a dog food processing plant and most of it is so thoroughly cooked and pocessed, it surprises me that salmonella could survive.
Baby Sage eats Diamond brand (one of the healthiest brands for extra large breed dogs). I have checked the recall list to make sure hers isn’t one of them.
