I’m kinda torn. I liked not watching a single file pack of 20 cars go round and round. But, I’m not so sure I liked it taking two cars to do anything all day long. Too much room for error.
I was impressed with the “pulling” drivers not blaming the “pushing” drivers when they became a caution.

I wonder what changes NASCAR will make to the cars before the summer Daytona race?

        • It was hard to tell watching the shootout and the duels since the field was 1/2 the cars but watching the race today....NO, I do not like it! I was actually getting bored.
If you don’t have a drafting partner your in trouble. There were too many cautions today dragging out an already long race even longer. Great cars got wrecked and with the new points system it could be harder for those drivers to catch up.
I’ve been to Daytona and it is a great race to watch. Not sure I would go back now.
I don’t think there is much they can do for the July race as this new racing is from the re-paving of the racetrack. You don’t want the cars slowed down at a super speedway especially Daytona!
I did enjoy the end of the race and Trevor Bayne winning.happy
