I was thinking about this as I was driving today. I’m definitely more outspoken now than I was as a young woman. I care less what people think. I try less not to rock the boat. I have more of a “what you see is what you get” frame of mind. Have you noticed any changes like this in yourself as you’ve entered into your 40’s?

        • Oh yes.  I felt like a doormat for so long and I try to stand up for myself and others if I feel they are being walked over.

        • I think I’ve always been outspoken to a degree but I do find as I’ve gotten older I do care les and less of what some people may think by what I say.

As my mother use to say...“I’m at the age now that I just say whatever.”  Well she did....and it could really embarrass you...LOL

        • Yes I think we do and we become more outspoken only because we don’t tolerate any messing about.

Actually I think women over 40 should run their countries as we have more to offer and there would be less of this chaos.

Books would be balanced less wars as we wouldn’t have the ego loss of face etc we would solve world crisis with a cup of tea and some gumption.

        • I was always a mover and shaker, but now that I’m in my 50s, I just “do it” instead of informing people of what I’m going to do like I did when I was younger. I used to think people’s opinions mattered, but to be honest the only opinion that should mean something to you is your own because you have to live with your decisions.
