    • With summer just around the corner, I am interested in discovering if you wear makeup during the summer?

If so, exactly what products are your summer favorites?

If not, do you use any special products for the summer months or have any special routine for very hot, humid weather?

Do you have a good mattifier to share? How about a terrific sunless tanner?

        • The summer months for me living in the south...are hot, wet, and muggy.  Your makeup just slides off if you‘re outside a lot.

For me...I wear Beauticontrol’s Wet/Dry.....a little bit of bronzer instead of blush....eye shadow control creme to help keep that eye shadow from creasing and to stay on...some eye shadow...eye liner...and moisturizing lip color...and black mascara.

Winter: I use a different foundation.
          If I’m home...not at work:  maybe a little mascara...lip color, eyeliner, wet/dry.

Colored lip gloss - like the little wand kind from the GAP - great colors usually at the counter when you check out, Old navy has too!
I do a mircro dermabrasion paste wash every Sunday nite to refresh my face.

        • I am looking for an excellent waterproof mascara so feel free to share the exact name of the product you use.

Jodi, the city that I live in just opened last Fall with a new Nordstrom.  I actually did freelance makeup work there for their grand opening.  Anyways, I do not recall the skin care line that you mentioned.  Is it extremely expensive?

Also, does anyone use a self-tanner?  I am white as a ghost and so I am always spraying on some extra color to appear tan!

        • I’m wondering the same thing ladies.  I’ve only been using my cosmetic products since December (MaryKay).  I have combination skin; mostly oily but the cheeks get dry.  Strange.  I have always worn foundation, blusher, lipstick or lip pencil and gloss, eyeliner and mascara year round.  I don’t know what to expect with this product.  I don’t know if I should be trying something lighter for the summer so, as one said, makeup doesn’t slide right off.  HA!

        • Typically I wear very little makeup especially in the summer. I am so active that everything sweats off. I wear Marykay lipstick and use the moisturizer with SPF in it. The majority of MK skincare products have spf in them. All women must protect their skin with sunblock of some kind.

        • This is an old thread I’ve noted - but a goody! And with this being the 1st day of Spring here’s a great beauty tip: if you want coverage and a SPF, but you don’t want to look made up - check out Rodan + Fields ENHANCEMENTS Mineral Peptides Treatment Powder, with SPF 20. It provides flawless coverage as light deflecting minerals work to even skin tone and reduce redness. It’s a treatment; protecting skin from environmental aggressors and irritants and it offers sun protection - a triple benefit! Love it, love it, love it!!  (It’s available in light, medium and bronze shades - so is perfect for every skin type.)

(But, I’m no longer 20!tongue out)

        • They say as you get older....that less is more...when it comes to “makeup“.  I sort of like that.  Maybe I will be able to tackle that.

I still wear Beauticontrol makeup and I now use Beauticontrol All Clear skin system.  It really helps with oil control along with their Retinol. What you wear in the winter is not necessarily what you need to wear in the summer months.

If and when I do wear make up, then the only products I use are Bare Essencials which have a SPF in them. Using a moisturiser with SPF as well, gives double protection

        • My fair skin burns easily so I do not get much sun anytime of the year, including the summer.  If I plan to be outdoors for a length of time, I apply 30 SPF or higher.

I wear makeup throughout the year, but the older I become, the less I wear.  The 2 things I can NOT go without is lip gloss & mascara!

Hey, what can I say, except that I am a true girly girl!

Cristina, is the tinted sunblock from your line?
