Yesterday I talked to my doctor about how I had been feeling. With the extreme moods going from one thing to the next. Well she suggested me going on PREMPRO so I said ok. SO I went to the pharmacy to get some. Well when I got home and started reading about it in the papers that come with it I decided I really didn’t want to take these. Some of the side effects that can occur lead to cancer. She had also said maybe we needed to up my antidepressent which my husband doesn’t want to happen. So we are going to go and see my doctor tomorrow and find out what would be the best for me. I just want to be myself again.

        • try organics and herbal teas. do some research on “herbal teas” and menopause through google...

Traditional Medicinals sells teas for all kinds of things from colds to stomach aches, PMS to calming at nighttime. And they have a whole selection of teas just for women’s issues.

I personally use TM’s PMS tea and have been using it for years! It has been better than any pill for PMS i have ever tried. The tea has helped calm down what I used to call my PMS morning rage and other physical symptoms like crampiness and bloating.

I have heard that raspberry leaf helps with most female hormonal issues from PMS, to birthing, to menopause.

Please do some research on such herbal remedies for yourself. Good luck, Cheryl!!

        • There are many alternatives. If you decide on HRT,go with the lowest dosage for the least amount of time to prevent side effects. Good luck!

        • I went through the same thing with my doctor. I think they just want us to drug ourselves. I refuse to use pills he prescribed. Instead, I researched Internet and found that potatoes are rich in natural nutrients that help our mood swings. And, I found an information about other vegetables, fruits and grains that help us, women. Prescribed drugs change our brain chemistry, and, the worse part: after a while we need stronger prescription for these pills to work.

        • The trick is to FIND what works for you, personally. Everyone responds differently, based on their genetics, food they ate as a child, “comfort” food when they are stressed, etc. Loosing weight really helps to keep our energy up, even when we have PMS.
