        • Somewhere I read you should drink 1/2 ounce of water for every pound you weigh

        • I read that you should determine how many pounds overweight you are, then drink the equivalent number in ounces of water.  For example, if I’m 50 pounds overweight, I need to drink at least 50 ounces of water a day.

        • but 30 or 50 oz. of water a day isn’t much.  Most things you read say you need 6-8 8oz glasses a day just for good health.  That’s 64 oz. a day.

I’ve heard the same thing as Vikki, 1/2 per pound of body weight.  I’ve done that.  For me that’s over 100 oz. a day.  That’s a lot of water to drink, but I sure feel better when I do.  Joints feel better, less headaches, allergies aren’t so bad.

          Drink up ladies!

        • Ooops!!!! I need to retract my earlier post . . . I was asleep at the wheel last night, literally! estatic

What I meant to post was:  If you weigh 180lbs., you need to drink at least 90ozs of water daily—or the equivalent of 1/2 your weight if you want to see yourself shed some pounds.  Drinking LOTS of water is extremely important if you want to lose weight fast!

        • Tuliplady,

When I read your post, it triggered that I had gotten my info twisted.  I try to drink at least 80oz of water a day so help me lose weight faster, keep my organs functioning at an optimal level and my skin moisturized to preserve elasticity.

And, ditto to your comment about how it helps to reduce joint pain, decreases the number of headaches you have and reduces the level of allergy symptoms we suffer with.  Now, ALLERGIES are a major issue for me and I hadn’t made that correlation before reading your post!  I kept wondering why my allergies weren’t as bad this year compared to past years.  My allergies used to be so severe—I avoided all outside activities.  That contributed to my weight gain because I was not going outside to walk or participate in any outdoor activities (even when taking several different medications daily to combat it).  However, this year I have only had about one bad week of suffering severly from my allergies.  The other days, I have not sneezed nor sniffled.

I guess WATER is the key . . . WATER is the best NATURAL SUPPLEMENT we can take to keep us healthy!
