**OH MY GOD!!!!! I am so fed up with this annoying idiot who keeps calling my cell phone...It is a debt consolidation company... I have NEVER called them or inquired about debt consolidation...These people are very rude...When they first called I was polite and told them I was not interested. Then they would call twice a day...well I finally called the better business bureau. They said that I had no recourse...HA!!! They suggested I put my number on a no call list...well I am on a no call list...She said I must have given my cell number as a main number for something, and that they put it out there for others to call...S when they called again I asked to speak to a manager...well I told him that I was not interested and could he take my number off the call list..Sure he says...They called me 3 times that day...I was being harassed...So the next day they called and I cussed them out...Sorry but enough is enough...She got smart with me...I said stop calling me...She says I will call you 50 times a day if I want to...I was stunned...So when my boyfriend got home I told him what happened... (Oh yeah I would call and block the number every time they called...But they used a different number every time)...He called them up using his land line and he was not nice at all...He started out by asking where they were located, said he might be interested in their service if he were able to come to the office and speak with someone...They hung up...So he called back and asked to speak with a manager...she gets on the phone...He says look Bitc*...do not call my phone or my fiancé's phone again. She laughed at him... he said I will find out where you're at and I will be waiting for you when you get off work...She said good then I can tell you to fu*k off in person...He got really mad and much more was said, that I don't need to repeat... I called the local police they said nothing they could do...Told me to get my number changed...I could not believe it. So I ended up getting my number changed. GRRRRRRRRRR

        • You know, there are laws to prevent this but they don’t work. I have gotten similar calls and that’s their solution...change your number. That is a total pain in the neck. I mean, what if I finally won Publisher’s Clearing House’s grand prize and the number on my entry was disconnected? ARRRGHHH....

These people need to have their lips sewn shut. I would love to get a hold of THEIR personal number and call them!!!

        • I too get calls like that except that mine are to extend the warranty on my car.  If I wanted to extend the warranty then I would call them!!!!!!  I was getting the calls 4-6 times a day.  My mom gets them too and she never has owned a car; she doesn’t even drive.  I told them that my car was repossed or stolen everytime that that called for about a week and finally they stopped calling.

KUDOS to you and your fiancee for cussing them out and telling it like it is, it’s a shame that it doesn’t help.  I get no calls for now but I imagine that it will happen again.

        • **...LOL...That was cute about the Clearing House thing...and yes having to call all those people and business to change my number was a big pain... I like your idea to sew their lips shut..LOL... I knew there was some laws.. But I get the feeling that they don't fear any repercussions. Oh yes it would be awesome to get ahold of one of their personal numbers..I would have so much fun...hehehehehe

        • I get those same phone calls about renewing my warranty. What makes me mad is it’s a different number every time and I use to answer. And most of the numbers are from back East and they go to my cell phone, I did not even have the phone number I have when I bought my truck.
Now, if the number looks questionable I just don’t answer it. And you‘re so right, Kataramoon, that Do Not Call crap does not work at all. And lets be realistic, the cops could care less about harrassing calls from a Company.
This is part of the reason I hate telephones in the first place.

        • When they call, tell them you are the police and you are there investigating a homicide and wish to speak to them about their involvement.  I bet they won’t call back then!

        • I do the home phone number thing all the time. I say, Gee I’m really busy right now but tell me what time you eat dinner and give me your home phone number and I’ll call you back.

There is now a national do not call registry for cell phones. I had the number to call and now I’ve deleted it. I’ll have my husband check his computer to see if he still has it. I’ll post it.

        • Cell Phone Numbers were made Public 9/25....
all cell phone numbers were released to telemarketing companies and you will likely receive sales calls.
..... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.  It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

        • Thanks, Daphne, for posting the number. I couldn’t find it. My husband put out the word to his staff a week or so ago and I immediately grabbed my cell phone and registered.

        • I too get these anoying callers and at home as well; there’s one in pacticular that keeps calling and starts by saying “please hold, this call is for you” then someone comes up and says hello madam  I’m calling in reference to your timeshare, you do own a timeshare right? my answer is no, I do not own a timeshare and procede to hung up but they keep calling!! and it’s always the same thing I have asked them not call me again and even threatened them with reporting them to the police oviuosly it hasn’t worked. I also have called back the number and a recording says “you are calling a non working number please dial again; I find it kind of creeppy and suspicious for the call does not seem business related. I’ve heard there is also a number where you can remove these calls does it anyone know of such thing? or does it only work on cell phones?

        • I think it’s awful that YOU had to change your phone number.  Why is it that the person that is the “victim“...is the one that has to do the changing?  I would have recorded all the phone numbers that came up when they called and then turned them over to the FBI and tell them you suspect they are terrorists...in which they are.  And the next time they called...just let them know that all numbers have been turned over to the FBI...and at least you wouldn’t be lying.

And junk mail...I’ll find another piece of junk mail and mail their crap to the other junk mailer..in their postage paid envelopes.  That way....I get to use their postage to mail back crap to them.

        • Another idea is to call your state Attorney General.  This is the kind of thing they are authorized to have investigated and have the company charged.
