        • Facebook is a social networking website similar to Myspace that allows people to communicate and exchange information with their friends. Facebook was launched on February 4, 2004, originally titled thefacebook.com (they acquired facebook.com for $200,000 on August 23, 2005). Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg (Harvard class of 2006) with Andrew McCollum and Eduardo Saverin.

The name of the site refers to the paper facebooks given out to students, faculty and staff of U.S. colleges, which contain photos of the campus community, in an effort to become familiar with other people on campus.

There is a new format on Facebook that just started—not loving it, but I don’t like change that much!! :)

        • Though I have both, I rarely use my MySpace.  I have established a real presence at Facebook, built a huge list and have made great friends there, along with being able to promote my business and blogs.  My Face book is more for my business, but I also stay connected with my college aged daughter, her friends and my family who live in other states.

It takes time to learn how to use...it can be addictive at times with all the cool applications and all...but I like the best.

I will have to check out some of the others that have been mentioned here.

Another great social network for women is
          Women for Hire and CafeChronique.

By the time I joined my Father who was 77 years old at the time already had an account. I have conneceted with many former friends, from College, and other phases of my life. It has been good. I discovered this website while on Facebook too.

But honestly, I have fallen hopelessly in love with Fab40 and I find myself on this site all the time! Since moving here to Louisiana I have not made too many friends. Fab40 offers me what I miss, being able to bond with ladies who are smart and funny.

I can jot down a quick note to let everyone know if something new or interesting or disasterous has occured during my day. Myspace seems to be a better forum for making new friends..but you have to be careful as there are some mighty strange people who may contact you!!!

        • As I look at how many days ago the previous comments were written, I’ve come to this posting a litte late.  I was also one of those who found Fab 40 through Facebook.

I’m actually on all 3 sites. I use myspace for more networking purposes and have both a music site (www.myspacecom/geniusgirl) and a jewelry site.(www.myspace.com/ginaventurini) which then links to my actual jewelry site www.geniusgewelz.com

I use Facebook to connect with family, personal friends, ex co-workers, and classmates.

Since coming to FAB 40, I’ve been spending most of my time on here.

There is also a great site for anyone considering a hysterectomy or going though menopause etc etc it is called hystersisters.com and it is great - I wish I had found it BEFORE my hysterectomy because it has so much info - but I still go on it now.

I also go on classmates.com - found many old schoolmates!!
