And Beautiful It Is... I am not big on snow or cold weather..But..Ahhhhh Fall is sooo nice.. I love the clothes that go along with this season..Hats, Light Coats and Jackets, Boots and Long Skirts, Your Favorite Jeans and a Big Snuggly Sweater..And some Ankle Boots or Hiking Boots...And "Oh The Purses and Bags"..My, MY ,MY... Well here are a couple of my favorite Fall Wreaths..Hope you enjoy them very easy to make..Grapevine wreaths I find are easy to decorate..There are so many places to glue the stems from the flowers and picks... If you have any ideas to add please do...

        • Here is a really fun Idea for Fall..Find a recipe for a favorite bread or rolls, a desert bread..Here is an example..This one would require 9 friends. You start by writing down the recipe and add the 4cups of Flour to a large zip lock baggy..Then the next person adds the next ingredient, marking  which ingredients have been added (we used a small star to the left of the ingredients  ...And so on..Till you get to the last person and they add the liquid..They finish the recipe..You all get together and share in the end results..It is a nice way to get a few friends together..
          ALMOND BREAKFAST BREAD
          Bread Machine Recipe
Servings: One 2 lb. loaf – about 12 slices

          Ingredients:
          • 1 1/2 cups fat-free milk
          • 4 cups bread flour
          • 1 tablespoon gluten flour
          • 1/4 cup almond paste (cut into small pieces)
          • 2 tablespoons sugar
          • 1 3/4 teaspoons salt
          • 2 tablespoons margarine
          • 1 tablespoon almond extract
          • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

          Directions:
Add all the ingredients in the order listed into the bread pan. Follow the instructions for your machine. Let cool and then glaze, if desired.

          Glaze
In medium bowl, mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 to 3 tablespoons milk and ½ teaspoon almond extract. Top with sliced almonds.

Be sure to use almond paste, not marzipan.

        • Kat,

Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year. The trees with their vivid colors are  all in their glory. I always think of it like they are giving it there ALL... one last show... before going to sleep for the winter. They do put on a show.

The cool crisp morning. I have the kitchen windows rolled out in the morning and I can feel the cool air flowing through the house not to mention the smell of fresh air.

This time of year always takes me back to memory lane. High School football games. Cheering until you cannot not talk. All the excitement in the air. Time does fly. It has been 25 years this next year. I have just been contacted about a class reunion. Wow...

I am also NOT a cold and snow kind of girl. The snow is beautiful, but it is just not me. I love the South and everything about it, well, not the humidity. I love old oak trees with the spanish moss hanging from them. I love the southern food. Yes, I will die early but I will die happy.
God knew where to put me. I am so thankful to him. I love the southern accent.

Thank you for writing about this time of year . We have so much to be thankful for and it is a great time to reflect.

          Happy Fall Ya’ll!!!

The colors are amazing...Oh and I do remember the football games...we used to run around spraying each other with shaving cream... The hot dog stand. Yummm... I do the same I have my windows open and the air is fresh and crisp..I can hear the leaves scurrying around when the breeze kicks up a bit... I would not trade this life for the city life again "No Way"... Hay don't forget the caramel apples and apple cider..ummm and fresh plain doughnuts ...  ahhhhhh

        • I too love the Fall, but now that I live in Florida I do miss the beautiful colors from up north and fresh picked apples and all the long rides just enjoying the colors and the cool air. But I don’t miss the snow and the ice.

        • I used to live in New England and LOVED the fall with all the leaves changing colors and the apple picking. I now live in Sunny Florida where the  trees are not the same. I miss the fall but not the SNOW and ICE.

I love the colors all around me and wearing those warm cozy sweaters and the hot teas just taste better too.
