        • My entire life has been centered around the beauty industry. Beginning with mud masks as a child, “feathering” my barbies hair, piercing friends ears and finally becoming a licensed cosmetologist. My professional career has also centered around beauty. I received so much education on techniques for performing services but also education on products. So I am officially a product junkie. How do you choose just one? I love lancome mascara (nothing like it), I use mainly gloMineral makeup, blush, shadows and liners. But when it comes to the lips.....oh my I am such a pushover when there is good marketing. I have one container for my makeup and another for all my lip stuff. Right now my fav lip balm is from DDF and it’s their lip therapy. It’s glossy and looks good alone.
Skincare and haircare..... well that is a whole other subject....

        • Hi girls!  I wear cosmetics every day even if I know I’m not leaving the house.  It’s just part of my morning routine!

My fav is Clinique, especially their foundation because it goes on clean and natural looking.  The mascara is good as well but if you‘re on a budget Loreal and Almay work almost as well.

I’ve tried Mary Kay. They have a great line of products too. I especially like the facial cleansers, scrubs and moiturisers.

I have psoriasis and it is the only thing I have found that does not cause a flare up for me.  The foundation gives total coverage with out looking like I have any on at all.  It gives me flawless skin.  And, I love the fact that I can mix the minerals to create my own colors and they can be used everywhere withour fear of irritation.  And if I should happen to fall asleep without removing it, no problem.  It is that gentle and pure.

I have tried everything under the sun and am a loyal fan forever.

I went to this awesome international make artist last Friday. I cannot tell you all the things he showed me. A wealth of knowledge.

One of the tips I read here is something he did also. He used pencil eyeliner that has a wax in it and then he set it with an eyeshadow that matched. It last much longer this way and does not smudge. Get a tiny brush like one for brows. They sell them at any makeup counter.

He also said good brushes are  worth there weight in gold. If you are the only one using them then cleaning them about every two weeks is all you need to do.

        • I am a makeup junkie that loves and uses a wide variety of brands with makeup, skincare and haircare.  A girl can never have too many lipsticks or lip glosses as far as I am concerned!!! Purchasing a new lip gloss can be a real “pick me up“!

Here are a few of my absolute favorites:

          1.  Mary Kay lipstick - Great colors and staying power!

          2.  Clinque lip gloss - It stays on the longest and I love the shine!

          3.  Mary Kay foundation - The medium foundation has excellent coverage and is great for combination to oily skin.

          4.  Clinique Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover - It gently removes even the most stubborn of waterproof mascara!

          5.  Bare Minerals Eye Shadow - LOVE IT! There are so many beautiful shades and it is like nothing else out there!

          6.  Murad Spot Treatment - If you are going through menopause and are experiencing breakouts, this product is FANTASTIC!  It contains sulfur, which is the hidden link to curing your blemished skin!  Apply 2-3 nights and the blemish is healed!!!

          7.  Philosophy Purity Made Simple - This is the BEST cleanser and makeup remover that I ever used.  It is gentle,
non-drying and it MELTS off your makeup!

          8.  Kenra Straightening Serum - Whether your hair is curly or straight, this hair product smooths out frizzy hair and promotes shine.

          9.  Avon Anew Advanced All-In-One Max Self-Adjusting Perfecting Lotion - LOVE this oil-free formula to hydrate my skin without adding too much to my oily skin.  It truly improves the texture of the skin!

          10.  Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer/Light - Oil-free formula to smooth and perfect oily, acne-prone or sensitive skin.  Maintains a flawless look to keep shine-free!

The book is a dedication to my girlfriends and can be personalized by you for your girlfriends.  It will make you laugh and cry, in a good way.  It is available on the site and if bought from the site, the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

I wrote it in celebration after participating in the Relay For Life with my girlfriends last year.

          Thanks so much for asking.

        • Thank you, Cindy, for sharing your very upbeat and creative business with our group!

Hey, Beauty Queens, you need to check out this website!
I just went on over and was amazed at all the AWESOME and
AFFORDABLE prices of trendy hand bags, jewelry and so much more!  (Did I mention that other than being a total makeup junkie that I am a jewelry and hand bag lover, too?!)

Cindy, that is soooo wonderful that the proceeds of your book is given to the American Cancer Society!  I was trained by the American Cancer Society to provide skincare and makeup techniques to women suffering with cancer.  It is called “The Look Good Feel Better Program“, which is FREE for all women undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation.  The classes are offered at local hospitals throughout the USA.
As a Licensed Cosmetologist specializing in esthetic skincare and makeup artistry, I teach skincare and makeup techniques.  The Look Good Feel Better Program provides each women $200 in FREE (yes, it is FREE!) skin care and cosmetics!  It is a wonderful program, very rewarding for me to reach out to women struggling with cancer and a way for me to encourage others to look and feel their very best.

Cindy, that is so inspiring that you participated in the Relay For Life, wrote this book and donate the proceeds to the American Cancer Society!!!

        • I have used Mary Kay, but now prefer the minerals. As for actual skin care, I love the Optimal Skin Care not only for what it does for my skin, but for what it doesn't do. No parabens = reduced breast cancer risk. So, no parabens it is for me! [Link Removed] Results are noticable after just one application. I have some one time use samples if anyone is interested. I always recommend applying it to only one hand so you can really see and feel the difference. There really isn't enough in the samples to use it on your face. You see the difference better when you can place your hands side by side too.

Big Sephora freak so I’m in the store or online as much as financially possible.

Love lipgloss. It’s my staple. Cheers up a rotten day. Aside from Chanel, the best lip gloss for me is Cargo and Dior.

Best Mascara?? Hands down: Maybelline in the pink/green container.

Love Chanel soft eye pencils...only dark brown and purple. I also tried Avon Glimmersticks...a bargain and really good!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE makeup....love it. Don’t plaster it on buy I love skincare and makeup stuff. Religious about skincare and hate looking made up....but my collection is vast. I don’t smoke, rarely drink...so this is an addiction like candles.

I remember a time when i was a slave to my make-up.  I’m happy to have let that go.

I’m sure I have spent 3 times as much on drawers full of slightly used products, instead of finding and investing in good products. I like the mineral powders, but as I age I am developing more of the crackled parchment type skin as opposed to deep wrinkles (just don’t anybody get too close!) and the mineral powders seem to emphasize this. I usually use tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. And no, I also never get ready in the morning without “putting on my face“!

        • I was a make-up junkie as a teenager, then for years didn’t take the time. I was the classic mom with too much to do, and a hubby who loved me no matter what. I really got proactive with my skincare at 30, and now wouldn’t use anything but the Optimal Skin Care. At 40 I took it one step further and decided maybe it was time to paint the barn. :) So, I am just re-discovering make-up. I too have sensitive skin, and am finding that I need more moisturizer cream using the minerals. Are some minerals less drying than others?

Also, I am intrigued to hear more from everyone about eye-liners (have never been able to use anything but a pencil) and mascara that doesn’t irritate sensitive eyes.

And, one last very stupid question. LOL I bought some eye shadow the other day, and is a creme. I have never bought creme before (didn’t know I was then) and have no idea how to apply it. I love the colors. I have been using my pinkie - but that is messy. LOL Here I am 40, just learning how to put on eyeshadow! How sad is that???

        • Arbonne all the way.  I never was very committed to one line - just bought what jumped out at me then as I got in my mid 30’s boy did things change.  I became so sensitive to products that I had to be very careful what I put on my face.  A close friend introduced my to Arbonne about 3 yrs ago and I’ve used nothing else since from their awesome Re9 anti-aging skin care, to the mineral powder foundation, to the bronzer, to the awesome VI makeup primer (like putting silk on your skin), to fab volumizing mascara.  This is the only mascara I can wear (I have very dry eyes and everything else irritates me).  I love the lip glosses and the eye shadows stay fresh looking all day.

I know someone mentioned they used to use Arbonne and the cost made them switch. I’m curious were you paying retail or wholesale?  I find that I save money using these products because they last for such a loooonnnnggg time(I only order my skin care about every 6 mon.) and I’m not wasting my money trying different products that don’t work or I have a reaction to.  No more product graveyard for me.
          Whoo Hoo!!
          Happy Turkey day all!!
