      Hi,

I am lost and don’t know what I should be doing with my life. I need to find work/career that is in line with who I am and what I value. I need meaning in my life.  How do you know when you have found your calling in life? Everything I have done has been so random and I am tired of it.

      Thanks

        • I have struggled with this same issue it seems like most of my adult life.  My answer is to keep turning to God’s word.  When I look into his word about using my gifts and talents and letting Him direct my steps, then I can have more peace about where I am today and where he wants me.  I struggle with wanting to do His will and worrying if I am or not.  But if I turn to His word and pray, than I have to trust that He is directing me.

        • Wow..I thought I was alone in this! I’ve been struggling with this most of my adult life as well. Crazy isn’t it? But..real. I can’t understand how some people know what they want, go for it, and get it. Amazes me. I want that. I want clear direction...but I have to keep surrendering myself to God’s will, His time, and His way...and learn to be a peace at where He has me for now...soooo hard. Then on top of that...know “That all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes.” Even if we don’t understand the purpose just yet. True test of faith. But...God is good. I have to keep believing that. It’s a choice I have to make on a daily basis. I have to admit..I do better on some days than on others.

        • We tend to ignore our special talents and choose our careers according to what will give us a sense of security. Too often, however, what makes us feel safe does not fulfill us spiritually.

While it may not always be possible to change your work immediately to something you love, if you follow your passion, it will often lead you there. And even when you have to earn money in ways that do not express your soul, you can seek volunteer opportunities and hobbies to express who you are. Often these can lead to the work that you will eventually do.

Your soul has a deep desire for you to express yourself in ways that brings you joy. It is your job to discover what that is and to bring it about.

        • Ms Kay, you are so correct.  I am right now battling with wether or not I should be selfemployed, or stay in this dead end job, and each time I keep doubting, and not excercising my FAITH.

I truly believe that GOD has blessed me with GREAT TALENTS, and trust me whn I say, I Know that I can be happy, and make others happy should I decide to go into my own business full time.

I love decorating, and I have been doing it from I was a young child, changing around my parents house room by room, from I was like 10/12 years old, and from there, I moved to planning family functions, then planning weddings, and decorating, and doing dinner tables, and bathrooms, and now as an adult, I do wedding planning, special event planning, desk top publishing, home decorating and the likes...on a small scale, and it gives me so much pleasure when I see the look on my clientes face, after I would have completed my tasks.

When I sit back, and listen as my husband boast to both family and friends, about my creativity, and I see the look on his face, it makes me feel Sooooooooooo Good.

I know I can make it, and I believe that there is alot out there for me to accomplish, but I keep stenching.  I don’t want GOD to take it all away from me, so please sisters, send some encouragement my way....if you have done it, just tell me, give me some sound advice, on how to walk away from an income, to walking in to my dream, and making my dream a REALITY....

        • Discernment.... shhhh... quiet... and He is speaking to you.  Sometimes we expect a big billboard, road sign, thunder and lightning to tell us what to do.. sometimes, it is in trusting and keep walking in faith that lead you to the promised land.  If it is from God, nothing, I mean Nothing, can divert you away.  You will always come back to that.  So let go and let God.  Let Faith and Trust be your best friends in this moment of your time.  x0×0 +++
