Are there any Moms that have a son or daughter who recently joined a branch of the military and is about to deploy for the first time OR is already on their first deployment?
Dearest Tracie,
Just read your post and wanted to write you a note and say that our prayers are with you and your son and family. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for you.
Be strong, sending you many big hugs.
Yana
p.s. look for this weeks newsletter on homefront.
I’m linking this group so all other moms, wives, sisters, can share and support each other.
I hope we can bring all our sons and daughters home safely sooner than later... God Speed.
Tracie
My thoughts are with you and your family. I can’t imagine how difficult this is.

Add me to your prayers as well!
My nephew just returned to the fold of the family after four years away in the military and two deployments - - I am very concerned for his ability to enter back into a healthy outlook on life.
So, as yours heads out...I pray that they are not only physically protected, but mentally as well!
We all need to continue to keep all of our military supported...especially as they are returning back home to us.
My son deployed last Nov. It is is first deployment. It is very hard to send them off. I am blessed that he is able to call home every week. It helps him and us to deal with the stress. He is scheduled back in Nov.
Keep your good spirits up and think positive, when your child calls home it helps to hear a strong positive voice that will motivate him/her. It helps them know that their loved ones are waiting and supporting them. Sends lots of note cards- they look forward to mail call.
yes! and care packages!!! with silly things. We sent a lot of favorites from childhood. Necco wafers were big for my nephews unit. You can get a lot of fun things over at your local Cracker Barrel! We always loaded down the boxes because they love to share the loads of stuff they receive from home.
You ladies are all incredible. I am in awe of your strength.

My son has served in the Army for 11 years now and has seen two tours of Iraq and two in Afganistan. I have accepted being a military Mom but it can be very difficult. One thing I can say is the military is great about letting the troups communicate with family when they are deployed whether it be by phone or email. It is so reassuring to hear from him.
My prayers go out to all the military and their families.

My daughter is only at boot camp and I already miss her so much! if/when the time comes for her to be deployed,I know I can turn to all of you for support :)
My son just came back from his 2nd deployment yesterday, Yeh!:) I am so proud of him, but I am also so worried when he is gone. He was in Iraq (16 months) and Afghan (14 months), even though I am very proud of him I am also so scared for him. I know what each of you are going through so anytime you need to talk please email me, I have 2 ears and will listen contently. I refused to watch the news while he is away. I know that is not very responsible but I just couldn’t do it. I knew I shouldn’t have worried just like you shouldn’t just have faith that he is being watch over and will come he/she (sorry for those who have women in the service) comes home. Take care.
