I just read ‘The Visitation‘,such an interesting book.
His book, ‘This Present Darkness’ was gripping.
      Anyone else like his writing?

        • I will be reading The Brethren next.
I haven’t read any others besides these. My usual genre is historical fiction or young adult small novels.I get eye-aches from reading too much.
          Thanks for the comment :)

        • I think I’ve read everything he’s ever written, as well as his collaborations with others.  Love his work!  This Present Darkness and Piercing The Darkness are, to me, his best work (I’ve bought and given away 4 sets already).  I’m reading The Yada Yada Prayer Group series right now (by Neta Jackson) and loving them for different reasons.  These women are REAL women, with the same flaws and idiosyncrasies with which we‘re all saddled.  Has anybody else read these? I highly recommend them.

        • Ladies, going back to “This Present Darkness,” for a moment...is it a sin to have a crush on angels happy ?

        • This Present and Piercing the Darkness changed my life! I have years worth of notebooks listing my prayers and God’s answers. It’s so encourging to look back and see what He’s done. What a faith builder!

        • deb, i am with you.  whenever i need a “picture” of true worship, i go back to that scene with the angels on the roof of the church worshiping, one with arms raised, a few singing, and one even making his sword dance, while the humans are below raising their voices in worship.  LOVE THOSE BOOKS!  and i agree, it was life-changing.

        • Psalmist, are you serious about having a crush on an angel character? If so, you‘re brave to be so transparent and admit to a it. Well, we ARE human, and they‘re not; but I would be careful in your thought life. It’s where all sin begins. Remember the demon “lust“? I try to follow, “when in doubt, do without” and reject any wrong thoughts as a spiritual attack.

        • I enjoyed the Darkness books, but was disturbed by The Visitation. We have his Cooper Kids Series, and I enjoyed reading them (previewed before giving to children.) It does open up a whole new world to consider how we are protected. Knowing we have angels intervening on our behalf is comforting. I haven’t read any of his books in quite some time. Maybe it is time to revisit them.
I tend to read fiction from beginning to end, excluding all my other duties (including sleep.) So, I don’t read books with a plot very often. :)
