Sometimes I wish my name were Friday, not Tuesday.  It is one of the cooler days of the week...especially this week with the holiday coming!  Who is off today (not me)?

I feel like every time I turn around, Friday is becoming more and more a part of the weekend.  A lot of places near me close or close early like the vet and the doctor and many people I know work from home that day or leave early “to beat traffic” (so they say).  When there is a holiday anywhere near it it is just a given to have the nearest Friday off sometimes too.  What gives?

Do you find this too—that a whole different schedule applies to a Friday? What is your typical Friday like?

        • It is a very different schedule now. I tend to avoid scheduling meetings, appointments on Friday. I am working primarily from home anyway, but in my industry people tend to take off for holidays the Friday before and I tend to try to work very little.

This holiday is a staycation for me. So many are surpirsed that I am not traveling to Macon to see my BFF but with his schedule we would not see much of each other so it is fine. I am working half way today, spending more time cleaning up my work projects that I have not finished. This has become my normal Friday work habit

        • Even though I don’t work, I LOVE Friday’s. It seems to me the people I come in contact with on Friday’s are so much more pleasent then any other day of the week.

Oh...if some people I know would have the same attitude during the week as they do on Friday the world would be a better place tongue out

        • I’m usually off on Fridays...I work part-time.  But I worked yesterday and heard that quite a few people were taking today off or planning to leave early.  My brother left me a message earlier today saying that he got an early release...he’s government..lucky guy.

Now that my oldest son is off for the summer, we‘re trying to do something special each Friday.  Today he went to a Lego competition at the library while I went grocery shopping and later we went to get some donuts.

        • Fridays are just another work day to me.  Nothing special.  This summer I’m working Fridays and Saturdays, so the weekend don’t amount to much for me.

Everyone in my family worked today and will tomorrow as well.  Guessing the two younger kids will have to work Monday.

        • Fridays when I worked often meant pay day, and that was a thrill! ;oD  A boyfriend, many moons ago, and I would pack up after work for a weekend of camping in the desert. Now it just means last day of the business week to take care of the business of my life. A sort of “last call” to the week. ;oD

        • Same old, same old. Farming is one occupation that doesn’t really recognize weekends unless it’s the week there is less to do anyway. The off 10 days or so we can go to dinner and a movie(if Farmer can stay awake)or go to the coast for a couple days.estatic

        • Allinet, not farmers here but I can relate. The years it took to build up the X’s business was no days off. Easy to lose track of what day of the week it is because they all seem to blend together. What are you growing on your farm?
