      Hey everyone.
      The past 2 years I have worked out of my home in Colorado in my Pajamas.. nice life, but now I’m in Las Vegas (the land of the beautiful, hot & sexy, (not to mention young) and I need help. I’m making sales calls to salons/spas & hotels, and feel so out of it. I wonder if I need a consultant or something to pull it together. I’ve surrendered my crocs, and found some great/comfy sandals w/heels, (so good I bought them in Black & Brown, but I just can’t figure out what to wear. I’m not the business suite type, and neither are “most” of the customers I call on.
      Do you have any suggestions for looking trendy and professional, while still remaining comfortable - which is a priority! Black pants are a staple in my wardrobe, and when I find a good fitting pair (Avenue usually) I buy 2. What can I do to dress the part? Thanks for your input.

        • I always have a stock of crisp white shirts , long sleeve, double cuff and short sleeve which you can accessorise and also some very nice white t-shirts again you can accessorise.

          I also wear lots of shift dresses - just easy no thought and not worried if I’m having a fat day etc;

        • Thanks Vicki. I always think a crisp white shirt looks great on others - I’ll try one for myself. I’m wondering what happened to Skirts with Pockets... is that not cool anymore? I think I could get comfortable in the right skirts.

        • Vegas is hot and it really depends on your clients.  You mentioned you need not dress up - so I would just wear comfy pants or dresses with your sandals.  Business is business, so still need to dress up a tiny notch above your competitors according to your profession.  IMHO.

          As China Doll said take it up a notch and give yourself a signature so people remember you for your smile , product.

          I know that 9 times out of 10 people buy the person first then the product.

          Go and shine honey xx

        • Wow, you gals give such great advice & much to think about. I’m taking notes..

          It is Vegas & HOT as heck, which may be why the Biz Suit doesn’t seem necessary, but I agree I should be a notch above my customers. Maritza, you give me some excellence to shoot for. I think I’ll start with a mani/pedi this weekend - and a fresh haircut as that always helps.

          It’s so true, sometimes I accidentally get it right and know I look good, and it makes your whole attitude so much better.

          I’m going to look up Christopher & see where Della lives... I miss my scrubs. Thanks much.

        • My mom always said it’s what’s on the inside that matters, but haven’t we all had those moments of: “I feel fabulous because I have on the perfect outfit for me” feeling and realize that there’s more to it than that.   The outside and inside really work together.

          I like the idea of going shopping with an honest and stylish friend, I also think it’s helpful to find a women’s networking group in your area to find mutual support, women in your same age group, and to share fashion ideas.    I’ve learned a lot from the business women I’ve interacted with who were not clients, customers, or competitors but supportive friends facing similar challenges.   Best of luck to you in your new endeavor.

        • You are on the right track, Janatoo, with your mani/pedi.  It does a lot for your self-esteem.  Get a slammin’ hairstyle, color, too, if you dare and let me just say, that after all of that, for me, it’s all in the accessories and the makeup.

          You can make a fabulous outfit with your black pants, and long sleeve silky blouse, heels, several necklaces, post earrings, giant ring, bracelet or two, and (my MUST!) a head-turning bag!!

          Try it on, girl, and take a pic!!
