Greetings from the College Success Foundation!

The deadline for the Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth has changed so students can be selected earlier in their senior year so staff can begin working with these students to help ensure college readiness and college success.  The deadline is now November 10, 2008.

In addition, the scholarship amounts have changed and will range from $2,000 to $4,000 per year, depending on the college of attendance.

The Common Application, which has been developed in partnership with the Higher Education Coordinating Board, Department of Social and Health Services, Treehouse and Seattle University, is now available on the CSF web site at [Link Removed]

To be eligible for the Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth the student must:

Be recognized as a dependent youth in foster care or kinship care in Washington State , federal or tribal out-of-home care
Be enrolled as a Washington State high school senior and on track to graduate from high school
Have resided in Washington State for at least three academic years prior to high school graduation
Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least a 2.0
Thanks for your help in promoting the application.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
