So many of my friends have left Michigan due to the poor economic conditions.  It is so sad!  I am lucky to have not been effected much by these changes.  How about you??

        • Amen, J prayers are going up on you and your family’s behalf. I on the other hand am now on the flip side of the economy. I was out of work for over 8 years, and then my hubby lost his job and was out of work for over a year, but God! We‘re both working full time jobs and are doing well again God is good and prayer does change things if people would only believe.happy

        • Thx Kristi!  The job market is slooooooooooooowly coming back, you just have to keep your eyes and ears open wide and not blink or you'll miss the opportunity. I'm also finding with getting a job here in Michigan now its not truly what you know but who you know, more and more employers are hiring family members and friends, and friends of friends, so that is a thing I find happening, but while one waits for that door of job opprotunities to open brush up on your skills go back to school take a few classes, refresh your resume' and get a new trade under your belt it helps.happy

        • Things have been tough for us out in California.  I was out of work for a year and a half.  Now I have a temp job, but it doesn’t pay enough to live on.  My savings are almost gone and I had to spend the inheritance my mom left me just to survive frown.  Neicy and friends- can you pray for me to pick up some overtime hours and/or find a better paying job?  I feel bad I’m not saving anything for retirement or my daughter’s college fund.

I have friend in Michigan who tried to sell her house for a couple of years.  She gave up and is now a consultant who travels around the country wherever the jobs are.  She’s been in Dallas for 8 months.

        • A few months ago I was saying the down economy had not affected me, but this summer, I guess I’d say it has affected me.

Usually during the summer I get enough painting jobs to help me catch up on my bills.  This summer I haven’t had a single painting job so far, and don’t have any prospects lined up.  It seems like even if people are spending money on paint, they‘re doing it themselves this year rather than paying out more to hire a painter.

        • Thankfully no, and have been fortunate to help many others earn extra income and even replacement income.
