      Hi Ladies,

I thought that all of us from time to time get stagnant with our business ideas. We try new things and whey they work we are ecstatic, but when they don’t we get all upset and bent out of shape.

I thought it would be a great way for us to connect here and get some help from each other.

While we all have different businesses we all have one goal in common, and that is to propeller our business to the next level.

I recommend for you to post a little synopsis about your business, and ask questions. After all by ourselves we can only do so much, together sky is the limit.

Let’s put our heads together and brainstorm.

What do you think we can add to Fabulously40.com that will bring women back here daily?

        • Cindylouwho,
Maybe meet with a PTA of a local school. I’m not sure where you are located, but here the PTA at my girls school is very active. They are always looking for small businesses to 1) put an ad in the newsletter 2) set up a booth for the kids to buy Christmas gifts for parents 3) work with to do some kind of fundraiser.

I’m not familiar enough with your product or price range, but I think this is a great opportunity to get with some local schools/PTA groups. What a great low cost (maybe free) way to introduce your product and let those in your own community know about you. happy

          Best,
          Renae

        • Lu,

PTA is a great idea. Candles are very popular as Xmas gifts for teachers. Most schools have a parents directory that you can get. Mailing coupons works great. One of my friends would have a party for mom’s every year she would sell out all teachers gifts.

        • My plan is to have a first class website, a regular video blog, and be the premier online source for fine confections. I don’t think that’s too much to askestatic

I also want to move into the educational realm in teaching others to work with chocolate, and to organize and facilitate theme gatherings where people pay a fee to come and work in my shop - I’d even include refreshments and things for them to take home.

And then the long term goal is to own a production kitchen for others to pay to use to produce their products. I have a very detailed plan for that for after we move back to the mainland.

Yana I would do a poll and see, of the women here who come back day after day and make it part of their routine, what makes them keep logging on here. I’d be curious to know what a common thread is and move up from there. Many of us who pay for premium membership do so because of the feeling of loyalty we have to the site. We‘re here because we‘re dedicated to its success and we want to be a support system for that.

Lu, after spending time with you in Las Vegas I realize that one challenge you face is to educate people about the quality of yur candles. You‘re not a “homemade” product that anyone can just go buy a kit for. There’s a lot of thought and time that goes into producing your candles. I didn’t really know the scope of that until we talked about it in Vegas.

        • I posted a blog here a while back about Longaberger. Here is the beginning of it and the link.
Founded in 1973, The Longaberger Company is America’s premier maker of handcrafted baskets and offers other quality home and lifestyle products, including pottery, wrought iron, and fabric accessories. A favorite American guest destination, Longaberger is based in Newark, Ohio.
          http://fabulously40.com/blog/id/longaberger-baskets-information-11240
You really have to keep your name out there! Networking sites which we use are great. I also do an e-mail basket newsletter at the beginning of every month since Longaberger changes the feature baskets each month and has different specials. This may be an idea for you too Lu as you could add new products, etc. to keep everyone updated. I also donate to certain charities that are looking for auction items especially this time of year and put a catalog and business card with the item and I make up contact stickers and put them on the inside of the box.
You also have to educate people in some ways about your product if they are not familiar with it like some never heard of Longaberger. When you have a website and people don’t know the product they may not want to order.
Keep your website up to date! Also, update your networking sites. I post my blog on here at the beginning of the month with the new products but Yana I would love to somehow post my newsletter but it is in e-mail format and copying it and pasting does not work with the pictures and the layout so if you have a suggestion on how I can do that please let me know. I’m on here pretty much daily. I’ve made some wonderful friends, lots of good information and support. A poll is a great idea!happy

        • Cynthia, you are on the right track and I know you will be great success. I just can’t wait for you to move back here next to us, so I can come and use your kitchen estatic

Diana, great tips. You can copy the html right into your blog that should work fine for your newsletter.

I think a great idea would be is to create a virtual basket and have a contests. With everyone that is participating we can make the rules and give out products. My head is in a fog today, but if anyone wants to jump in with a great idea I’m all for it.
