Now that fall is here, what is on your hook? I just finished a harvest bowl with an  attached leaf.  It can hold mini pumpkins, apples or a variety of fruits. How about some tiny gourds?

        • Also, I’ve made the cutest pumpkin hat in orange with a  green hanging leaf and matching green booties for a baby.  I don’t know who will be getting this fun fall gift!

        • I’ve been using some scrap yarn to crochet some scarves.  If they don’t sell at the craft fair, I’ll be donating them.  The only other thing I’ve been crocheting lately is flowers to put on my knitted hats.  Very cute.

        • Tulip, the hangers are nice-love the combination of colors! I can’t help with the pricing, just consider the amount of time spent producing your product and cost for materials.

        • Time is irrelevant, you never get paid enough for that when selling crafts—ever.   Materials are just scrounged up items.  Not even sure what they would cost in the store.  I never buy acrylic yarn anymore (hate the stuff) so don’t know what the price on it is anymore.  I have no idea what hangers cost either.  Maybe I should look next time I go to town.

        • MoSher, I love the colors you chose for the hats! Did you use a double or half double crochet stitch on the tri-color hat?

I need to add one more row to a gold beanie, then I’ll be finished. Who knows, I might add a flower to it!

        • Hi Georgeann,

Congrats to you on your crochet skills! I simply love crocheting!

I bought some pompom yarn a couple of months ago, but I haven’t used it yet! It’ll be a 1st time for me  to use pompom yarn.  Now, I just have to decide on a project to trim with this fun yarn!

        • Georgeann, I’m a lefty and I’ve been doing this stuff since I was a kid, you’ll do great now that you’ve got the hang of it.

As far as pompom “yarn” goes, I was watching a tutorial somewhere one day (try googling it, I can’t remember where I saw it) and I believe the were using it sort of as a foundation chain. Rather than crocheting WITH it, they were crocheting ONTO it, if that makes any sense to you.

heartSo far, I’ve made my younger daughter a shocking pink(hot pink) infinity scarf. Gorgeous!  Now, I’m  crocheting a matching pair of fingerless gloves for her.  Adorable! One made and one more to go! The scarf has 150 chains using double crochet stitches.

heartThe SCARF/GLOVES SET is now COMPLETE. On to the next project!

          So what’s on your hook?

        • Well, I knit far more than I crochet anymore, but yesterday I made a new potholder and taught my BFF’s sister in law to crochet!  She’s going so great and I really hope she doesn’t loose her momentum.  We’ve made plans to have a crafting Saturday every month or two.

That’s a great idea to do crafting with someone every month or 2! Having you to craft with, will continue to inspire her and increase her skills! Have fun!

I bought a loom knitting kit a few days ago.  I’m going to teach myself to loom knit. I love creating handmade items. It’s so fulfilling!

BTW, how was the craft fair?

Butterflyrose, have fun with that knitting loom.  I’ve only every used one once, but it was fun.  The craft fair was pretty much a bust, but I wasn’t expecting much considering the town in was in.

Single crochet, double crochet and a picot stitch was used to make the hat and flower.

        • I’d crocheted:

*a victorian rose colored baby hat with an ivory/ivory glitter thread picot stitch edge and matching ivory flower

*ivory baby hat and matching socks

*larger size baby hat in white with a pastel green rose
TO DONATE TO CHARITY when my older daughter told me a friend of hers was having a baby shower. So I gave these items to my daughter’s friend as a gift instead.  Baby(soon-to-be) just happens to be a girl!
