Jazelle and I are on a cooking thing. I’m teaching her about some of the foods she eat regularly and how easy they are to make ourselves. Today we made peanut butter.

I bought a can of cocktail peanuts because they looked like they had enough oil in them. I don’t recommend dry roasted. These were Planters cocktail peanuts/lightly salted. I put them in a blender, put it on high, scraped the sides down a couple of times and added enough peanut oil to make a butter consistency. It came out a little runny but I think it will firm up more as it sits in the fridge.

I know it’s kind of pricey to have peanut butter like this but the lesson for my 5 year old granddaughter was great. She was so proud of herself as we made her sandwich for lunch. She polished that one off and asked for another.
