1 can chickpeas - (I like Goya) - drain and keep the water on the side

      2 garlic cloves minced

      1/2 cup Tahini

some Olive Oil (a few tablespoons or to taste)

      Juice form 1/2 lemon

      Cumin (to taste)

Grind chickpeas in food processor. It will be a little dry. Add some of the water from the can. Add the rest of the ingredients and start the food processor. Keep going until it is smooth. Add more water from the can a little at a time until you get the desired consistency.

Put it in a bowl and cover with a thin layer of Olive Oil to keep it moist. Don’t refrigerate but do use the same day.

*You can also use dry chickpeas, soak them overnight with a little baking soda, rinse before continuing. I just don’t have the time...

        • Okay....I’ve never had it...but for some odd reason it just doesn’t sound too appetizing to me.  But like I said...I have never tasted it...so I could be wrong about it.  What in the  heck is it?  LOL

        • Hummas is so addictive.  I make mine similar.

I use a can of chick peas drained.

Minced Garlic 2 or 5 cloves

Olive oil about a 1/2 cup

          1/4 cup of lemon juice

          Tahinni optional

I use a tsp of Cayenne pepper to kick it up

and a tblspoon of parsley for color

Use Pita bread heated or regular to dip and I like to use it with veggies to dip.

Oh if youve never had Hummas dont try it store bought as its not the same.

My newest fettish is Baba Ganush (hope I spelled it right)

        • I love hummus and baba ganoush! I have an Assyrian friend who owns a restaurant & makes the best! I like to dip pita bread in mine also. Now I have a taste for it and will have to go there to eat soon! I don’t cook so it would take a miracle for me to make my own!
