Ok, so my hair has been all one length forever because I was soooo afraid to cut it(I have had more than one bad haircut). Anyway, I got a gift certificate to the salon where I get my eyebrows done and buy most of my beauty products. Well here is my dilema. I FINALLY broke down and went in to get my haircut. Just some layers to give it a little shape and texture. I explained to the girl how afraid I was to get my haircut because of all the bad experiences I have had. Ok so here is my dilema. The haircut costs me $60 and I hated it. I waited a day or two and tried to make it work but I was NOT happy. I called and went back in to have the girl recut and shape it better. Long story short, I HATE MY HAIRCUT!!! The right side looks like a two year old cut it and no matter what I do it looks like crap!! The problem is that I go to this place to get my eyebrows done and I love that girl who does them. I’m afraid if I cause a big stink about my hair it will be uncomfortable everytime I go in. So now I have to either live with it or pay someone else (who could ultimately screw my hair up even more) to try and fix it. I COULD END UP BALD!!!! Any opinions????

        • poor you! :( I wish I could give you some advice, but I am a wimp. Maybe go in and ask them to help you style it and explain that you are having a hard time getting it to look good?
          So sorry!

        • One thing I have finally become comfortable with is telling a salon when I am not happy. I had one place where the color was awful, and they knew I was disappointed. I told them I’d give it a couple days, but then I called and said nope, needs fixed.

Be polite and speak to a manager, they may get you into someone else on the original cutter’s day off.

        • I agree with the others, you should definitely go in and speak with the manager or owner.  I’ve done this before and they “fixed” it without a question.  Usually a stylist will touch up a cut or color within a few days to a week after the fact, free of charge.  This is their advertising, they get their clientele word of mouth, so they would rather have a happy client than an unhappy one!

        • I agree with Dee Dee, maybe let her know that you are still not happy with the cut. Ask if she can maybe show you how to style it or something like that.
This way, she will be able to help you or at least see that she didn’t cut it right and offer to fix it for you. Since you already use someone in the salon for other services, maybe this stylist will be more than happy to help you out.
          Good luck!

        • You definitely need to speak to someone.  My hair always looks different on one side...that’s the way it grows, I guess.  When I get my hair cut it takes it 2-4 days to relax and look better.
I hope you get it to look the way you would like without losing more than you want.
          A bad haircut stinks!
I’m sorry to hear that you have had to go through this.
          Good luck!

        • Being the owner of a salon, I would definatley want to know if one of my clients were not happy. Especially if they were a regular customer.  Did you show the stylist a pic? When you went back, did she show you how to style it? I always take less than what the customer asks for, especially if they are new or getting a new style.  You can always take more off, but you cannot put it back on.  I would speak with the lady who does you eyebrows, tell her your dilema, and ask her opinion. She may be able to advise you on what stylist in the salon to go see to fix this. Why didnt you have her do your hair? Or does she just do eyebrows??

        • I would speak with the owner quietly, help her to understand that I expect her to fix the problem on a day the employee is not working. Any discipline or conflict should be between the owner and the employee but you should still get the lovely haircut you paid for. This way, no hard feelings, no drama, no discomfort when you come in to get your eyebrows done, everyone’s happy

        • Sassy...You definatley need to go talk to the owner about this.  That is terrible! Did you ask for layering? 60 bucks is alot to spend for a haircut anyway (I wish I could get that in my area), she should offer you your money back and try to fix this. Although I really dont know what could be done without trying to blend that and put more layers in. The only way I can see to blend it would be to slide cut it, or kinda go with the emo style, short choppy layers on top and longer on the edges.  You may be better off to go and ask for your money back, and let it grow out.

Don’t wait to long, go ASAP! If it were I, I would offer your money back to keep from losing you as an waxing client. Then I would speak with the sylist and have her eexplain what happened in private. It’s stylist like that, that give us a BAD name. URGH!!

        • Ok it just keeps gettin better. I just called the Salon to find out who the manager is and guess what? It’s the girl who cut my hair!!! I guess I am just going to have to let it grow out and then go somewhere else to have them fix it. I was so scared to get it cut in the first place. I know this sound ridiculous and it’s just hair but what’s more ridiculous it that I payed someone $65 to screw it up!!!!

        • Sassy,
Yes she may be the manager, they may have several, to work in a salon alone you need to have a managers license.  So there for they may have several managers (I have 3 managing stylist who work for me). I would call and ask, who is the owner and when would be a good time to contact her regarding an issue with one of her stylists and the work she performed. That will get her attention! If she doesnt give you the info you need, I would let her know that you will be contacting your lawyer. Or you could just contact your state Cosmetology board, I am sure they will be able to give you the owners name. Sixty five dollars is way too much to spend for the work you recieved!

        • Okay...so you don’t like your haircut.  If you‘re not going to say something to her then just don’t go back.  But if I were you I would tell her how unhappy you are and either give her the chance to make it right or ask for at least half  your money back.  But someone won’t know they are not doing a good job unless you let them know.

But just remember...as much as you might hate your hair right now....it’s just hair...and it will grow.

Dating site advertising isn’t exactly warranted in here. I personally don’t find it funny and I don’t welcome it.
