Hello friends what is on your mind today? Today I woke up and went to my tea closet. I love tea so much that if there was a such thing as a teaaholic I would be it. Well I went down and I had so many to choose from but the aroma of one of the new flavors caught my noses attention. I grabbed it out and the smell captured me. This tea is a rare white tea and I remembered smelling it at the Teavana tea store. I remember being arrested by the aroma but thinking really hard about the $15 per 2oz price tag. Obviously the aroma won me over. The tea is a blend of pomegranate seeds, sour cherries, sweet carrot bits, apple, pineapple pieces and rosebuds. I steeped a cup and couldnt wait to try it. With care I infultrated the cup with cream and raw honey and put it to my mouth. I was surprised! What a bitter aftertaste! My mouth just didnt know what to do with that! tongue out. I expected this cup of tea to be the diamond cup of all tea for its aroma assured me of that, I was sure. As I continued to  sip, because I just couldnt stop I remembered the name of the tea.  ‘Queen of Babylon’ that was the name. I had a moment of enlightenment. Have you ever had such a high expectation of something or someone and when you looked closer or experienced that thing you realized it wasnt what you thought at all? Me too! We create these expectations based on the outside appearence and our emotions, feelings and senses agree with us. When the truth really comes out we are disappointed and sometimes even devestated at the real truth. I am going to try really hard to just experience things without the expectation because everything and everybody has the right to just be what or who they are and it is up to me to decide if I like it or not. After a while I decided that I liked the tea and became okay with the taste after all, but it did take some getting use to.  estatic

        • Too bad they don’t offer a taste of the tea at the shop, before you buy it, especially for 15 dollars for 2 ounces? Wow that IS expensive..Maybe try drinking it plain without milk and honey.  I have noticed myself that certain teas don’t go well with milk or cream.  Possibly could be reacting with the sour cherries to taste bitter.tongue out

        • Interesting name for something they hope to sell! But, Cocco, you are right. Often our disappointment is due only to the level of unreasonable expectations we have attached to them. It’s a hard habit to break, but once done (I have not mastered this myself) oh, the joy of the present! Thanks for your very interesting and insightful post!
