I need receipes using regular foods, but making them into either cold soups or hot soups.  They cannot have any pulp or meat in them.  If you have any PLEASE send,  I would greatly appreciate it.

        • That’s part of my problem, I’m trying to think of things besides citrus. I’m looking on the net and in cookbooks, but also asking anyone that is willing to listen.  I can not digest any solid food, so I’m looking for anything that has nutrients, but strictly a liquid. Anything to keep the strength up.  Thanks for the reply. :)

In a large pot over high heat, combine the potatoes, onions and water to cover and boil for 30 to 45 minutes, or until tender. Drain the mixture, reserving 3 cups of the water. Transfer this in small batches to a blender and puree until smooth.

        • Robincyn,
I can tolerate the broth of both chicken and beef. In fact, if I don't start doing something soon they are going to insert a feeding tube into my lower intestines. Which scares the ** out of me, so I will do anything for that not to happen. It kinda upsets me also, because to look at me I'm 5'2" and right at 200 lbs.  I need to lose the weight, but not so fast.

          Thank you both

        • txbluebonnet: sounds wonderful, I’m willing to try making it, thanks.

vikki:  I drink a nutritional supplement similar to Ensure, it’s 8 oz., but it takes all day to get it down.  I can only have small quantities of liquids or anything at one time.  After 1 or 2 sips, swallows, spoonfuls, I’m full.  (That really doesn’t sound bad to me to be full, because I am so big, but dr. doesn’t like it.)

        • Usually diabetics will get it, but I am not diabetic.  They call mine idopathic (no known) cause for it.
Sometimes, people will have surgery and some of the vagus nerve gets cut, this may also cause it.
But, there are people much worse off than me. I guess the problems just seem to be piling up right now and I’m scared.
Today, dermatologist called, said I had pre-cancerous lesion and he wants me back in office in a week or so to take care of it. And then all the other problems of growing older, just getting to me.

        • This is a puertorican recipe called Salcocho
          Beef
          salt
          potatoes
          squash/cabbage
          Carrots
          and Vegetables of every kind.

You can not eat solid food but you can get some nutrients from it.

Cook the beef in boiled water (30 minutes)
          add salt
After the beef is cooked, remove it from the pot. Use 1/4 of the beef broth, pour another 1/4 of water. Then add the rest of the recipe. The last thing you will add are the vegetables.
You can drink this soup with vegetables and not solid foods. Also you can use chicken.
I wish you get well soon.

        • Have you thought of getting a juicer? You could feast on fruits & vegetables and at least try to keep your strength up. It’s a good season for it, and you could add some protein powder and other nutrients that would be good for you too.

Can you eat yogurt? Yoplait is awesome for digestion, but maybe that’s too solid. Good luck.

        • A juicer is a great idea!  For me anyway. I tend to drink a lot and eat less than I drink. So a good way for me to get what I need but drink it.

        • Hey Pouty,
I have a big fancy Champion Juicer, and there is always a battle about which is the “best“, but I use my little Juiceman 2 more often because it’s so easy to use & clean. If it makes a glass of juice from an apple, it’s good enough for me.

But, I really want to get a vita-mix juicer because the hot soup is sooo good.

Look on ebay or Craig’s list...

        • We Chinese will do the following:

In a big pot, put water, then inside, put beef or chicken in a bowl with a lid.  Tightly sealed with tin foil.  Set the bowl in the big pot.  After the water boils, turn stove down to just barely boiling for several hours.  You will get a good broth from the beef and chicken - sweet and no additives or spice.

Juicing is a great idea and I encourage you to consider.

          Can you take pills???
