So I recently posted that this past semester somehow packed on some of the “poundage” I lost last year. I guess the combination of stress, limited exercise and not paying attention to what I was eating caught up with me.

At the moment I have no excuses so will be taking that weight off again before the semester starts in August. Then my goal will be to not put it back on during nursing school.

Anyone care to join me? We can post our progress on this thread.

        • I definately want/need to. I know from past experience that my motivation only lasts a couple weeks though, not sure how to get past that...

        • I will join you.  I’ve finally toned up enough that I have to wear a belt to hold my britches up, so maybe I can actually take off a few pounds this summer.

        • Sounds good to me, so far I have cut down the sweets and snack foods to just an occasional treat, but still need lots of motivation as I get tired easily these days.

        • We’ll keep it a little on the loose side, meaning we’ll work on what works for us without any hard and fast rules. I know that for me I have best results when I’m keeping track of what I’m eating. If I take the time to weigh out and measure my portions I’m able to stay within a range that promotes weight loss. I don’t restrict any particular foods, just keep the portion size down.

My goal is to lose about 15 more pounds and then I will be satisfied and happy.  This running/walking for this marathon is helping.  Lord...you really have to pound the pavement to get this fat to leave....LOL

          I’m in.....

        • I’m going to keep this thread up and running the whole month of June, that’s a commitment.

I was feeling a bit sluggish this afternoon. Also, I’m taking Joe out for dinner tonight to celebrate the end of school and all he’s accomplished this year. I want to enjoy the evening out and not worry all that much about dinner so I got on the treadmill this afternoon. I’m usually a morning exerciser so doing this in the later part of the day is a stretch for me. I’m glad it’s over.

At least we‘re going to a fish restaurant tonight so a grilled piece of fish and a salad will be appropriate.

        • We just came in from a walk and then I had homemade bread, toasted, and an egg for breakfast.  Now I need to go upstairs and lift some weights.

        • I need to add some sort of indoor workout. Since its going to be so hot out I don’t think I will be out much.

I need something to prevent boredom. Any suggestions?

        • Ladies, you will laugh, but I put the lawn mower blade on a higher setting and I have been mowing the lawn every four days, along with constant sweeping with the broom (always lawn debris to clean up), stretching and light aerobic with my exercise ball, lifting two pound weights ten times each arm and walking back and forth from my front yard to my back yard for 15-20 minutes every day...sometimes when you don’t put a lot of thought into it, the exercise is easier.

          I have lost 12 pounds since I posted 26 days ago.estatic

        • I would love to join you all; I have been  battling back pain and recovering from a herniated disk so my exercise routine is not what it once was. But I am committed to losing about 18 pounds or so by the time I go back to work in late August. I am a high school teacher.

The focus for me is moderation in portion sizes and continuing a focus on whole foods and less processed foods.

          Good luck everyone,
          Dawn
