No need to divulge the details about your current position but describe the current environment, i.e. large corporation or small, paternalistic environment, and then share your thoughts on what your ideal role looks like....use your imagination - the only boundaries are the ones you create for yourself!

        • Hmm...I work in a large institution where fear is running rampant. It seems like you don’t know you are doing anything wrong until after the fact. It is a need to know basis and no one knows who needs to know.

So....what would I like my environment to look like? I actually like my position. I just would like to have more open communication. It is ok to do something wrong just point out kindly and how it can be done different.

        • I am in sales and love it.  Ideal world would be selling without digging up leads, prospecting, marketing, etc.

        • I work for a large telcom that is only getting smaller all the time.  Layoffs are a way of life.   Job security?  Everyone is on edge.  It makes for a very unmotivated workforce.  My ideal job  would be doing what I do now, without being surrounded by all the negativity.

        • Currently, I’m self-employed and it’s isolating. I had a career for 20 years and then realized my dream of higher education in my 40’s when I graduated with honors from a local university.

The problem is I no longer want to do the work that I used to do and want to break into a new field, but need to make a certain amount to cover expenses.

That being said? I’d love to get back into the world of editing/publishing or work as a team leader training entry-level employees. If it could be part-time so I could write my book, that would be ideal!
