  • If I Knew?

    • If I knew what stress looked like could I fight it off? After reading an article in a health flyer the answer today is no. I say that because the stress-induced physical symptoms can include:

      back and neck pain
      weight gain or loss
      dry mouth

      there were some more but I listed the ones I’ve experienced recently. Why just last week I was waking up in the middle of the night and my mouth was extremely dry, I was worried about the cause of this but I couldn’t come up with an answer, until just now.

      On the surface my stress looks like my son and the fact that I need a second job.

        • frown Uh! 47 I feel you on this one stress can come in so many forms and we not know how to recognize it, but we need to learn so we can get a grip on it because it is one of the #1 killers in America and the economy doesn’t help us any might I add.

        • I too despise stress and I get SO mad at me when I allow it to take over my day!!    

          Something I read recently said to look at the situation your in at the moment & say - HMMM, How hard can I make this?!  I’ve tried it and it certainly does snap you back into reality.

          Going with the flow is good in many situations - now and again you have to REMOVE yourself from a stressful situation - with the SON being part of it (I have that one too) that is harder, but I remove the things that cause US stress - if the new turtles, snakes, crawdads (& lack of care for them) is the prob - Well, BYE BYE. Arguement over tv volume or show - OFF with the TV, friends fussing - Well, SEE you guys later!  You get the jist.  

          Too much Drama w/friends lifes - small step back to breath.. there are things that help...including things as simple as counting to 10, saying a little prayer, deep breathing!  

          Often it is simply enough for me to just stop and think - Wow, is this my life?  Is this what I want, how I want to feel?  Am I going to allow this into my being and core!
