      I don’t understand why I am not losing weight. Grant it I definetly could be more active. But hardly eat.  I could clearly stand to lose 100 #’s. But would be very happy to lose 25 before the wedding. Prayers and sugguestions would be appreciated.

          I see that you are planning on joining us on sparkpeople.com. Thats good since that is what that site is all about.  

          So you want to lose 25 by the time you get married (congrats btw). Well you do need to move a bit each day....just walk around your neighborhood or walk in place at home. But also you NEED to eat at least 6 times a day...small meals...
          I am one of those who don’t eat enough and my metabolism is messed up from it. So now I had to gain weight while getting in the habit of eating regularly so I could lose weight.
          And don’t forget to drink water....lots of water!

        • I’m wondering if you’ve had your thyroid checked recently. Women in our age bracket frequently have thyroid issues. And also a hormone panel could be helpful. If your estrogen is low and peri menopause is setting in, that could contribute to stubborn weight.

        • I have been battling the thyroid thing for years. Also I believe I have entered the peri menopausal era. Grrr. Upon not dealing well with stress.

        • The metabolism slows down excessively during our 40s, and perimenopause makes it even worse.  You could lose weight at any age if you work out with weights.  I began a weightlifting regimen and it has burned off fat and made me extremely tighter.  Eating a little doesn’t help.  To keep your metabolism going, eat every 2-3 hours. If you eat very little, you starve the body and it stores fat.  So, yes you gain more weight.  (I’m in the process of writing a blog of my experience with weightloss.  Coming soon!
