In memory of: YOUR  OLD MAN.    The Obituary:
From your birth date until now, there have been some hurts, some habits, some abuse and neglect; there has been some ups, some downs, some victories and failures. Until now there have been some angry moments and some sad times; some sinful actions and rebellious periods. Until now you have turned your back on God many times; you have dissed Him, told Him 'no', and flat out disregarded some of His instructions for your life.

First you were born in sin, and your old man was obedient to the enemy. Then, finally deciding to be adopted into God's family, you became a son to God. After coming into the family, there were new rules, new instructions; requiring new thoughts, a new heart, (well basically, it required you to become a 'new man') Your old man was to be put to death and you were to become a new man.

Because of the need to walk as this new man, it is time to say goodbye to some of your old 'tendencies', 'patterns,' and 'priorities.'  It is time, to lay at rest, some of the painful memories, ungodly behavior, ungodly companions and rebellious attitudes. It is time to bury the past, and let it go. The 'old man' is dead and you need to let him go, and bury him, once and for all. As long as you try to hold on to him, you will not be able to move on. You can't move forward from a loss, until you allow there to be some closure. Dead things need to be buried.

Stop trying to bring the 'old dead man' back. Let him rest in peace, so that you can live the life that God intended and planned for you. A life of obedience to Him; A life where God is in control, and you don't have to try to make things work, because He makes them work. A life where you don't have to make your way prosperous, because God makes your way  prosperous. A life where you don't have to 'hope' for peace, provision, protection, guidance and love, because ' God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:19

So today lay at rest the old man and his old ways. Lay at rest anything and everyone who is holding you back and holding you up. Why? Because you are not 'dead', so you need to be able to move forward and grab hold of your life, your visions, your dreams, your assignments and your missions. You need to grab hold of your Father and let Him grab hold of you.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Cor. 5:17

"Our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin." Romans 6:6 NLT
